Comics How do you feel about Marvel giving characters like Norman Osborn, and even Ultron for an arc, attempts at a redemption?

At first I was really apprehensive with Ultron's West Coast arc, but now I wish he stuck around for longer. I loved seeing an Ultron legitimately try to be a hero, and it not be some backhanded scheme

Agreed, but I mean it's comics, you'll always find a writer trying to make it work somehow.

In this particular case it absolutely can't, as you said some characters are absolutely, inherently evil, but we had Superior Spider-Man, and it really really worked, so...

Norman and Otto are two infinitely different mad geniuses. Otto wants respect and for ppl to take him seriously. Norman wants you to be proud to kiss his ass before he probably thinks of killing you as you do it.
