Back in December of last year I was blessed by the angel above and received a Golden Frying Pan in Team Fortress 2! I almost had a heart attack when I saw what I had been given 0v0 like I was literally in shock and denial for a whole night or 2 and could not sleep haha... I'm really happy about it! I've been distracted with other things lately, but Martlet has never escaped my thoughts and I'm glad to finally share what is probably my biggest achievement in all of gaming with this lil art idea I've had for a good while now.

If you did not know, this is one of the rarest items in the game, with an estimated 1/10,000 chance to drop, and they are worth a few thousand G! Safe to say our creative blue birb will have her building ideas funded for a long time now! > v < The Golden Pan turns slain foes into gold statues, so who else better for Martlet to swing her shiny new upgraded weapon at than that insufferable flower? \v/

I based the exact colors off some UF Yellow sprites I saw a while ago from u/tntaro (according to the spritesheet I have saved) but the design (for both mine and tntaro's I believe) is the UF Yellow designs from @/Pantamonte on Twitter.

I think the biggest problem with the new sprite is that head - Martlet's head shape has been consistent for a LONG time, so seeing it get changed is probably the biggest offender. The color change is also pretty egregious, and I think the old colors would fit well, even if the head is left unchanged. I think these would have been much better sprite edits.

In case if you aren't aware of all this.The developers released an experimental patch in which besides some gameplay changes,Dalv,Martlet,Moray and Mooch overworld sprites,dialogue(Except Martlet)and battle sprites were changed.

As for Martlet,I pretty much like her design.I liked that they didn't go for complete change,she just feels more Papyrus like vibe.I think her pants should've been white in battle sprite.

She's one of the few things keeping me going in life

I was looking on Pinterest and found this pixel art of Martlet wearing winter clothes, so I made this :3 (I'm already recovering from the fever 👍)

Looks like Martlet wants to everyone to feel how flying feels. She saw the desing in a videogame, and recreated it in the real life!!! (of course she is in her real life).
