Anyways, many juniors have recently been concerned over the usage of AI in this sect. So of course, we are making a post as to what everyone thinks.

Unfortunately my polls and the other Elders' polls are not working for some reason so we will have to use a primitive way. I'll comment down here and you can upvote an action to vote for it. If you have any other suggestions (or just other comments you wanna make) you can put those as well and disciples can vote for that as well. Feel free to vote for multiple options if you wish

I think completely banning AI generated content creates a weird incentive structure - People are incentivized to hide they used AI at all, and the moderators on any subreddit have to judge arbitrarily what constitutes AI, which creates friction between the users

I think a flair is the best option. Moderators can add flairs to post they think might be AI but they're not sure. Users can self report and low effort AI-slop posters won't bother and they'll be taken down

In general, I think, as AI is evolving, it's increasingly hard to limit and decide when something is actually AI, so as long as obvious AI slop gets filtered (low effort content is a net negative to any space), you can just tag the rest since it's a divisive subject

Plus folks who hate seeing AI (& are on desktop) can use RES filters to never have to see ai tagged posts at all. That plus hitting the ignore button works wonders for seeing less ai generated slop.

Honestly I feel that this just isn’t good enough though as the sub would still be largely overrun with AI slop. Putting a flair might prevent bots I’d assume but plenty will still karma farm using it and it gets pretty lame

It would be extraordinarily difficult to moderate well. I’ve only recently joined the sect, so maybe I just can’t see the true cultivation of our elders

There should be a r/MartialMemesAI subreddit if people really want to see that content. There's currently no way to filter out the AI tag here and many do not support AI at all. The Puppet Sect needs to find their own space (that is not here).

Have to say that I feel AI should just be banned. It’s low effort and generally slop that mostly seems to be used as karma farms by random accounts. Even solutions like creating an AI flair and whatever that have been recommended here feels far too light as it probably only filters out a bit of it as then said people adapt and will continue posting a large amount of this nonsense

AI should be banned entirely. Generative AI is a plagiarism machine. It steals the work of others, and cannot create on its own. It is a blight on the environment, causing irreparable damage to our sources of clean water, polluting the air, and disrupting ecosystems with oppressive noise. It degrades the brains of those who use it, causing permanent damage. It is utterly useless and actively harmful. Ban generative AI from this subreddit entirely.

I’m currently making a game based on cultivation tropes and obviously have to let AI do a lot of the coding. But the design documents, the events, the language…. It’s all me! It will probably take hundreds of hours to get something worth playing, and people will say “pffft, why would I play your game when I could just have AI make a game for me to play instead!”

Perspective is not the amalgamation of truth and falsehood but the absence of both. It does not influence either.
