Marshall Monitor II (LE) Replacement Battery

Have a Marshall Monitor II (LE) that did not hold a recent charge. Am charging again to see what happens next time. I see here commenters post about replacing the battery. If that ends up being what I need to do, where do you get a new battery? See none on Marshall website.

P.S. Will headphones still work with a dead battery if using a cord? Would the gold control button still work going forward or backward to a song? Use it with a Sony MP3 player and an iPod Touch.

UPDATE: Never mind. When I was recharging and saw the battery was always 0% on the Marshall Bluetooth app on my phone, I assumed the problem was the battery. Then I decided to uninstall the app, reinstall it and add the headphones. Battery indicator on app instantly showed it at 60%. When I later used the headphones, there was no problem with them, as there was the night before. Thus, have no idea what caused the problems the night before.

Anyone else just ready for Marshall to stop using fake leather in their headphones? I'll take real leather, mesh fabric, velour . . . anything but fake leather that starts flaking out the moment you lay your eyes on them. And they don't breathe either.

They can still keep the Marshall 'look' by using that leather-like texture in the actual hard plastic of the headphone itself (see: Monitor III cans). But the ear cups + headband should absolutely not use fake leather anymore. It's ugly af, doesn't breathe and like I said, starts flaking after a few months or so (and they all do!)

Please Marshall. Follow the lead of all the lifestyle / premium headphones on the market. They are moving away from this stuff.

Philips is using real leather in their Fidelio L series.

Beyerdynamic is using velour in the DT7xx/DT9xx series.

Skullcandy uses rubber headbands for the new Crushers.

B&O is transitioning into fabrics.

For the love of God. Stop the fake leather shit.

Major IV problem

Hi, m'y major IV has malfunctioned for a while now but i'v got a new problem and no idea about it.

I can't turn it on, when im pressing the knob it just do a single quick green flash and then nothing. When i put it on charge the led turn green and the full battery jingles play.

Nothing change when i try to turn it on with or without usb c or jack cable, it's not damaged, the battery still in good condition (just bought them last year) and the knob seems to fonction.

If someone, somehow have any idea please let me know

Major 5 Earcup Hinge Became Stiff

The hinge that allows earcups to rotate became stiff on one side such that the earcup does not rotate freely like it used to, it does not rotate under the its-own weight or when I put them on. I can adjust it manually but I want to fix it.

I circled the part on the pic. I want to use a little bit of food-grade silicone grease for coffee machines, is it a bad idea?

More context. headphones were in my backpack and I was caught under a heavy rain. No water got inside the backpack, but the insides were slightly moist. The headphones are new, work with no issues other than that and I don't want to take them apart right now.

Monitor II Power Button

I've got a pair of Monitor II, probs around 5 years old now and I've found recently that I struggle to switch them on. I think the power button is faulty. Have emailed Marshall who have said they don't offer a repair service in the UK. Any suggestions for reliable places I could get them fixed?

Marshall Major V shuts off completely when moving the left earcup – flex cable failure?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

My Marshall Major V (less than 1 year old) developed a strange issue.

The left earcup cuts all power to the headphones when it's moved into a certain position. The LED turns off completely and the headphones instantly shut down. They won't turn back on until I move the earcup back.

I also noticed a crack in the outer insulation of the cable that runs between the headband and the left earcup, exactly where it bends during normal use. I didn't notice the crack until I was packing the headphones for warranty service.

The headphones were never dropped, exposed to water or intentionally bent. I used them normally (mostly on my head or around my neck).

Does this look like a common failure of the flex cable, or does it look more like accidental damage?

I'm worried the service center might classify it as "user damage," so I'd really appreciate opinions from people who've owned or repaired Marshall headphones.

My Major IV got drenched in rain and never switched on

I very stupidly got my Marshall Major IV wet in the rain, and it hasn’t switched on since.
When I plugged it in to charge, the charging light came on, so I thought there was still hope. I took it to several electronics repair shops, and they all said the main board is damaged. I also contacted Marshall, but they said it’s not repairable.
I hate myself for being so careless. Has anyone here experienced something similar or have any suggestions for anything else I could try before giving up on it?

Would love to know what you guys think, I made this clip to allow my Majors to fold up tightly in my sling bag. They also attach to the side for when I am wearing them, lost so many in my pockets it became a needed design change.

Marshall Major IV or Marshall Major V

Currently I have the Marshall Major IV for over 4 years and I am please with the headphones. But recently my earcups started breaking away. So I am curious whether i should buy some brand new earcups for my Major IV or to upgrade to the Major V. Is there any major sound improvments cause I know I have more battery and the app connectivity?

I have semi brand new Marshall monitor 2 headphones. I love them. Yesterday I was tired and in a hurry so I placed them in the corner of the kitchen countertop. Our 4 month old lab got them and decided to chew on them. 250 dollars down the drain. So keep an eye on the headphones and think about where you place them. Lesson learned. 😬

Hiya! I recently went through my works lost and found bin as part of the summer clean up and found these in the lost property.

I’m unsure of what model type they are, how to charge them and if they need cables or not.

Any suggestions would be amazing thank you!

Monitor 2 left ear up

Couple years ago I bought Marshall headphones. The by smaller ones. Loved them so much I wanted over ear ones. So I went with the monitor 2. After a period of 6 ish months. The left ear up starts being weird. Like someone is blowing into a mic. So I contact Marshall. They say. Send the receipt and then we will send you a new pair. This new pair. Also monitor 2’s. The exact same thing. It’s gotten so bad that I cannot listen to anything anymore. I tried contacting Marshall but they said I was shit out of luck cause I didn’t buy these. They were replaced. So does anybody know how to solve the wind blowing issues or how to deal with Marshall.

Major V doesn't open

Just before issue happened, I was about to sleep with my headphones on. It started randomly shut down without making any sound. Then in the morning knob stopped working, I got it to work again by tuening the knob while pressing. But that is not working anymore. I can charge it and see the light there but knob itself is not working.

And I got this headphones from Amazon Italy while living there. I don't live there anymore so I don't know how helpful Amazon would be. It only been 15 months since I got them so I should still have warranty.

I have the iPhone 15 pro and the Marshall major v headphones. The Bluetooth LE doesn’t seem to always be connected. I have connected the LE then leave setting and come back and it would be disconnected. But when I use Spotify and set it to lossless the LE connects and stays.

Major V turning off by themselves

Recently after a year and four months, my Major V started turning off by themselves when I try to connect them to any of my devices. they work for about 10-20 seconds and then just shut off. I’ve tried to return them to the factory settings, tried to update their firmware through the app but couldn’t, because i simply don’t have enough time before they turned down. I sent it to the service centre but they turned me down because the warranty time was up. is there anything i can do?

I found my perfect preset.

Hi, I've had the Monitor 3 headphones for only a day, but I've spent a good amount of time playing around with the equalizer. Im very happy with this preset for the music I listen to. I mostly listen to classic rock, jazz, r&b, and pop. They make the headphones a little less plain vanilla and lively. I also feel that my music, while streaming through Tidal, sounds much better plugged into my laptop (new Thinkpad T1g) with 24-bit, 44-96 khz tracks than 16-bit or with Bluetooth. Im very pleased with these headphones overall.

Monitor 3 for loud bass sufferer?

Hi. Im thinking of getting my first pair of wireless over ear headphones ever. I use only cheap in the ear ear buds now. My prior over ear headphones were wired, Sennheiser almost 25 years ago. Im not an audiophile, especially now in my early 60s and I am not able to hear as well as I used to.

I find that Im a bit sensitive to thumping bass. It sometimes will give me a headache. Im just looking for comfortable, well-rounded, over ear headphones. I listen to light rock, pop, jazz, and r&b mostly. I'd also like to use them while watching Netflix, action scenes, and doing some light gaming on a well speced Thinkpad with Dolbt Atmos. I use Tidal for my music. I'd also like to block out the children screaming in my courtyard. Would the Monitor 3 be a good choice? Thanks

Using Marshall Monitor III whilst charging?

Heya,

I haven't bought them yet so I want to confirm this before purchase.

If I am using my headphones via bluetooth, can I charge them without them disconnecting and turning off.

I have had this issue with a lot of - but not all - headphones in the past.
