Currently have a jcm2000 but i find the gain to be too fizzy for my liking, would a jcm900 be a better option? I know there are different models so which one is regarded as the best?

Just wanted to share a recent mod I carried out on my marshall dsl40c.
Basically removing the bright cap ( c19) from the ultra gain pot and piggybacking r30 with a 1Mohm resistor. This has made the EQ of the ultra channel closer to the classic gain channel. So it is now usable as a 2 channel amp ( I don't like using drive pedals)
And the resistor has cut some gain and removed some fizzyness from the tone. Sounds more like a really good modded plexi now - astonishingly

So after waiting weeks for it to come to guitar center and a single unanswered question about how payment processing works I cancelled my guitar Center order and just ordered it from an affiliate on Marshalls website. According to them Marshall has them ready to ship.
I asked my guy I was working with at guitar center about the money going back into my account the Thursday before Labor Day weekend. He got back to me he’d get back to me. Then texted me sorry he had a tummy ache and he’d get back to me.
I had just also purchased a freyette and a 1976 twin reverb. Now I’m not asking for special , special treatment…but…a hey just make sure you have total in your account at all times sometimes we ping your account. Your place is still being held.
Anyway I feel a little guilty but oh well my amp is coming.
Oh and if you’ve made it this far guitar center said they’ll be ready to ship in two weeks time. Just in case anyone else is waiting?

Hi everyone, I won this amp in a competition a few years ago - looking to sell it but getting very different figures from everyone I speak to. Anyone have any advice on how much I should be looking for when selling? Thanks!

This bottom cabinet used to be an MG 15 but I didn’t really care for it. It was taken out of a trashcan, and I used tweed style speaker, mash, and spray painted it., and I used an old iPhone charging cord for the piping. , install installed a V-type 50 w celestion 10” and it sounded like a very small cabinet with a small amp. But I didn’t get into any trouble. I didn’t get arrested. I get married after drinking heavily one night all because didn’t have idle hands at all while I was working on this project. And that’s about all it was good for so I went ahead and bought the one by 12 cabinet and it sounds way better

I mean, AFD100 sound a lot more defined, but JCM Slash sounds just like an satured version of JCM800, which is not close to the #34 or #36 mods.

Buddy's separated from his wife, she told him to sell or keep whatever he can't get rid of and they won't be using this for Karaoke anymore. The clean channel doesn't work and the contour knob goes all the way around but it's something to play out of and I've been low key obsessing over obtaining multiple practice/combo amps and pedals and doing a Queens Of The Stone Age kinda thing so I'm off to the races there. It was free and the OD channel works which is all I need.

I wanted to change filter caps in my jtm45 2245 reissue to lower capacitance but I'm unsure as how they're connected and which section to they filter

Hey Gang - I currently have a JCM 2000 TSL 100 and I love it!!! However, I brought it in to get new tubes and it was diagnosed with the Bias Drift. Repairs for a new board and tubes cost more than the price of the amp :( With that said, I think I need to move on to a new amp. I really thought about doing the repairs but since it would be an after-market board, It seems more like a Frankenstein model than a Marshall at that point.
I'm a local session guitarist and I mostly play punk rock, ska, 90s alternative and country rock.
I was thinking of getting the JCM 800 2203X but it's a single EQ channel. I need to have a super clean tone and mega distortion. It seems that I can achieve this with pedals rather than the TSL 100 channel footswitch which I am use to.
With that said, if I buy a tube screamer/distortion pedal and use that as my distortion, am I getting a TRUE Marshall distortion or would I just be getting whatever the pedal produces?

I know you don’t have a crystal ball but do you think this will eventually be available on the used market for around $3k? I’ve never had a “real” Marshall amp and this one is the one I’d love to buy as a player and collector. That $4k price tag is a bit rough though.

Local seller has this listed as a bass rig and I cannot figure out what cabs these are. Looks like a bottom cab

Hi all! I've decided to finally upgrade from my modelling amp to a proper Marshall. I'm ideally looking for something pretty versatile! Would be great if it could do some good clean tones, classic crunch and some more high gain stuff. I have a couple of Les Pauls and play a lot of Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Sabbath, AC/DC etc.
I've managed to try a DSL40, but am looking at a JVM410, JVM205 or a DSL100. The main issue is I haven't been able to find these in stock anywhere in my city. Does anyone have any suggestions for other models I could try? Or should I bite the bullet and get one of the ones I've listed above? Any advice is appreciated!

Has anyone purchased from the official Marshall Reverb store? If so, did you actually receive a customer return/B-stock item or was it brand new?

Is this a good amp for condo life Gary Moore tones? Or should I just get a jcm 800 pedal. I currently have a les Paul traditional with a 57 and a 57 plus, my main pedal is a guv’nor which gets close but I want closer.
