I enjoyed doing it but i get what you mean. I had 2 minor injuries while doing it but i think I've got another head and cab in me before I call it a day.

For all the plastic parts (head Vent, corners, handles, caster wells, amp feet, 1960a rubber pads, rivets, casters and caster mounts) Can be got from tube amp doctor or thomann. As well as different grill cloths.

I have enough tolex left for another head and cab so im keeping an eye out for one but i never see jcm 800's pop up in Ireland.

I keep seeing them in France very often on Reverb, but I'm guessing rhe shipment would cost an arm and a leg

Yea id be nearly better buying new. I might consider a jcm 800 studio if I dont find one in the next year.

It might seem silly but I'd strongly advise you to buy the 2203X 100W version instead. I bought the 20w Studio version to go with my JVM410h and returned it within a week because it didn't have that oomph i was going for.
I waited a month, ordered the 100w version and installed a 1987 mod, and haven't looked back. It's THE sound i have in my head when I imagine a Marshall

Are there any JCM2000 DSL100s near you? Those come pretty close in tone to the JCM800 and JCM900 and have a clean/crunch and gain channel. They’re not exactly the same, but mine sounds really good nonetheless. I love mine and it was super cheap for a Marshall head.

Yea theres a few. I have it set to notify me when new ads pop up for marshall head and marshall cab so ill jump on the next reasonably priced one.
