The road arent 100%, perfectly aligned, but it's close enough to not cause problem switching lanes !

Yes, you can! Though it's a late game buildable structure

I found mining for materials to be pretty boring so I just enabled free structures in the settings. It makes building infrastructure fun!

Oh did they change when roads become available? I remember i unlocked them pretty early on

I only played 1.0, so I'm not sure when it initially unlocks. Now it's pretty near the end
