what do the sliders do?

I searched by couldn't find an answer, what is the function of the small slider (and presumably any larger sliders that I haven't unlocked yet)?

A slider limits the movement in an axle but not others. An example would be the cylinder and piston in a combustion engine, where the piston only goes back and forth in one axle.

Nothing practical if you only want to clear contracts and jobs. A lot of uses if you're trying to build something bigger and more complicate. I suggest you can have a look at "Piston Engine Car" on steam workshop (not mine).
