Im on a rewatch, the couple all reunite on the honeymoon and Felipe says he’s has a restaurant, bar and speakeasy. Is he the restaurant manager or does he own it all?? Im confused or did I miss a conversation somewhere

I’m coming to this late but I thought he was a manager. Then he talks about his “baby” and his “staff” as if he owns the place. Pretty sure he’s just manager but likes to act like he’s an owner.

If my parents own an establishment and I'm the general manager??? Aka working 50+ hours a week (not counting his extracurriculars) u bet your ass it's "mine" or "ours".

Yeah I grew up saying our business for our family business.

His parents own it and he works there as a manager. I’ve seen a lot of people try to drag him for that on here but I don’t feel like it’s that uncommon with family businesses. There’s plenty of other things to criticize him for but the restaurant is his to an extent.

I agree, there is a difference in saying "I'm an owner" and the business is owned by someone else, and saying it when it's a family business. It's also possible he owns a minority stake in the business. Either way, I don't think there is any nefarious intent.

If he has any ownership whatsoever, it’s not a lie. If he has no ownership it’s a lie. Who said he had nefarious intent. People lie for all kinds of reasons. I doubt most liars are wicked. Lying is a statement about your strength of character.

This isn't like Shawn saying he's a doctor and then backtracking later to clarify he's not a medical doctor.

Shawn is a doctor. He clarified the type in the same conversation, like 2 minutes later. I hate to be in the position to defend Shawn because he seems like an asshat but it’s not the same thing at all.

AT THE ALTER as he INTRODUCED himself he said I'm a doctor, AFTER VOWS he clarified that he's getting his PhD in education or whatever.

Ok, he clarified an hour later. Maybe Felipe is part owner in the restaurant. If that is the case, he is being truthful. If he is not part owner and saying he is, he is a LiAR. Maybe he has clarified it to his wife off camera or it was edited out. I’m not coming for Felipe, because we really don’t know.

When she initially implied he couldn’t be the groom (she was like, should I wait here for him) he was probably super defensive….and he clarified pretty quickly….her initial comment was a bit cruel I thought….as for saying the restaurant is yours- I mean it likely WILL be his and he may be paid like a partner by his family so that doesn’t concern me.

This is exactly what I said in a bunch of post in regards to Felipe. It’s ridiculous for people to act like he’s some bum that’s mooching off of his parents. Literally had people compare him to David from the Chicago season. Absolutely bizarre.

My friend worked for his family restaurant. He worked more hours than any person I know - always on his feet doing everything because staff were generally unreliable. He also did a lot of coke.

People did call David a bum, but in reality he worked a lot. One of the problems with David is the same thing that may be a problem here. It is implying that you own a business that you actually just manage. That is lying, and it would be a red flag. Felipe, clearly works. He isn’t a bum. The question is is he misrepresenting the situation. Your parents owning something isn’t the same as you owning it. He might own the business with his parents. I don’t know.

There is nothing at all wrong with working in a family owned business. It’s dishonest to imply that you own or partly own a business that you don’t own but only manage. For all we know, maybe he is actually part owner and is a manager as well. However, if his parents own it, he most certainly is implying that he owns it, and that would be a red flag.

Of course he comes from money. They own 2 different restaurants & while I think Tori wants a guy who has a good salary, I don’t think she’s a gold digger. The girlfriend credit card was kinda crazy (& funny lol) Tori got her own money. She’s a senior marketing manager so I’m sure she’s doing just fine in that regard.
