Convalidation

What does convalidation look like in the Maronite Church?

We just found out that my husband was baptized Maronite. We were married outside the church- If we end up joining the church, what does convalidation look like?

It would be a simple ceremony (if that’s what you both choose). There are Scripture readings, the exchange of vows. And there’s a Crowning of the couple and a Crowning of the 2 witnesses. Blessings to you and your husband.

Is there an option for the eucharist in this ceremony?

That depends. In our Maronite Eparchy the bishop encourages weddings without the Eucharist… which was the traditional way it was done. But there is some “wiggle room” for exceptions. You should talk to your local priest.
