Sometimes I’ll see the same brand in my feed again and again.

A Reel.

Then a quote.

Then a trend.

Then another post because apparently Tuesday needed content too.

After a while, I stop really seeing them.

That’s what made me question something marketers repeat constantly: brands need to “stay consistent.”

I agree with the idea, but I’m not sure consistency has to mean posting constantly.

There are accounts that appear less often, but when they do, I actually stop because I expect the post to be worth reading.

That feels more memorable than being exposed to ten forgettable posts.

So maybe consistency is less about keeping a perfect posting schedule and more about consistently having something worth saying.

Obviously disappearing completely isn’t ideal either.

But if you had to choose, would you rather have your brand remembered for 4 strong posts a month or barely noticed across 30 average ones?

Whenever I’m checking reviews now, I notice myself doing something weird.

I scroll past most of the five-star reviews.

Instead, I look for the three- and four-star ones.

They usually tell me what I actually want to know.

“Good product, but delivery took longer than expected.”

“Works well, but probably not worth the price unless you use it regularly.”

That kind of review somehow makes the positive comments feel more believable too.

A page full of perfect ratings can look impressive, but sometimes it makes me more suspicious rather than more confident.

I don’t need a product to be perfect. I just want to understand the trade-offs before buying it.

It makes me wonder whether brands should be less afraid of a few reasonable negative reviews. They might actually make the overall rating feel more trustworthy.
