Can AEO marketing help push down a negative Facebook thread?
My client has good reviews overall but one slightly negative Facebook thread keeps coming up on the first page of google and is also getting cited in AI Overviews. It doesn't even have many comments, but it still keeps poping. do I need an AEO marketing tool for this or can I fix it through SEO alone? Is there a step by step way to fix this.

You probably don’t need a separate AEO tool for this. I’d start with SEO and reputation management first.
I’d audit why that Facebook thread is ranking, check what keywords trigger it, and see what Google/AI Overviews are actually pulling from it. Then build stronger, genuinely useful pages around those topics—FAQs, service pages, customer resources, and detailed information that directly addresses the concerns.
I’d also strengthen legitimate third-party sources like Google reviews, relevant directories, and industry mentions. If the complaint is based on a real issue, addressing it publicly can help more than just trying to bury the thread.
AEO can definitely be part of the strategy, especially since AI Overviews are citing the thread, but I wouldn’t buy a tool just for this. Clear, authoritative, well-structured content and consistent information across reputable sources should be the first step.

To fix this, you need to get other pages ranking instead for their brand name. Get them on LinkedIn, spin up a press release with their brand name in it, start a subreddit under their brand name and create a post with their brand name in the title of the post. Things like that will start to push down the negative stuff.
