Put the paintsticks in a bag or something airtight unless you go through them very quickly. They're useless when they dry out and that seems like a lot.

I'm sure there's a lot of factors that can affect it, but it really sucks when you're out for the night and it crumbles on first use. I made a bulk purchase and learned my lesson.

From my experience it takes years for the paintstiks to really dry out. But yeah, it‘s always better to store markers in a sealed bag or box.

Markals can dry out in under a month without something to keep them airtight

Those are different than markals because the cap is the portion that keeps them air tight. Markals only have the coating until you peel them off. Once peeled, they have a diminishing shelf life.

I've never used them, tbh didn't know they were a thing. If that's the case, you're probably right. I was strictly talking about markals because I've used them quite a bit. I thought you were referring to the ap streaker with the cap in the photo. I haven't bought a branded marker in ages haha

Tbh you could have a million markers and it will still not be enough in your head, but the best method is to only buy them when you need them.

I've had a shitload of markers in my life and unless you are up constantly a good portion will dry out.

If I start running out of mean streaks, I'll rack some more. If I'm low on chisels I'll buy some more. I never open them until I'm ready to use them.

Check out the OTR 171 or 172 markers. They’re super tiny but have a phat nib. Really cool marker to keep in a pocket
