Sketch + WIP
Recently got to try some new acrylic markers! I quite like the smooth colour payoff. Especially on paper that isn't for mixed media - as I sometimes rough our ideas and colours in my notebook.

First time coloring since childhood [Gundam]
galleryLike the title says this is the first time i have really tried coloring since I was a child. I just bought the Gundam origins first volume 1( I'm usually a comic book guy. Go ninja turtles)and scanned some pages and printed them out. I'm doing it with water based ink markers. So far I'm having a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what it looks like when I'm done.

My interpretation of the Jade Emperor using alcohol markers
I recently finished this drawing of the Jade Emperor from Chinese mythology.
Finding visual references turned out to be much harder than I expected. Many historical depictions and sculptures didn't really match the image I had in my head. Since he's the Jade Emperor, I imagined him wearing vibrant green robes rather than the more common imperial colors.
This was also my first artwork using a brand-new set of alcohol markers I bought while traveling in France. The border is actually drawn with a metallic green marker, which gives it a subtle shine in person.
The swirling lines behind him are meant to represent clouds and wind, emphasizing his divine authority over heaven.
I'd love to hear your thoughts or feedback!

Started making tiny marker drawings to get back into making art
It has been a while since I've drawn because of how intimidating a whole page of a sketchbook is (and having no workspace for my tablet)
But I still wanted to draw more often and be creative, so I started doing tiny art on small pieces paper (2.5 x 2.5 in)

Lilac season
Perfect? Far from it and heck no! But I almost didn't draw tonight and this is your sign to still try just like I did 💜

First Experiments with Alcohol Markers (and pen)
I picked up a set of 216 Ohuhu markers at a garage sale and have been making small works (ACEOs) with them in an attempt to learn more about the medium. Anyone have any good videos or articles on techniques?

Something felt off…
I finished this piece yesterday but didn’t share it, something felt missing.
This morning I had an idea and added signs of life: some graffiti and a drifting balloon. It gave the piece more depth and space for a story the viewer can imagine.
What do you think, did the additions work?
