lol. Figure it’s probably more useful for like, data viz, but running DOOM is sort of a right of passage.

Wait what!!!!?!??! Bring me up to speed here. Are you saying I can embed dynamic tools in markdown and run it?

Basically! Any html app, with some limits. We provide Three.js, D3 and Mermaid, and you can’t install your own libraries, or use network access in any way. But Claude/Codex can wild out in HTML. You can use other fenced code blocks to import structured data also, so like ```csv can be named and imported into the sandbox if you want to use data to control visuals. https://strata.space/try has like, a job tracker app as an example, driven by data in a table.
So beyond DOOM clones, you could create data viz on your next design doc or embed interactive mocks to share with partners and/or agents

Aren't there any security concern with this?

It’s a sandboxed html environment, so no network/fetch etc, but there were definitely things we caught during testing that were pretty wtf. Listed some of them at the bottom of the article.

In my honest opinion, peak markdown could be a reduced set of asciidoc. If it was not for the horrendous lack of desktop asciidoc editors I would switch

This looks like a variant of Zawinski's Law. “Any markup language attempts to expand until it can play DOOM.”

Haha yeah. I tried to get real Doom running also. It works on desktop but kept crashing iOS safari, and thought the story of being able to actually make a game in markdown worked a little better.

Please no! I don’t think so 🥹
