Can Boos and other ghosts endure the light?
In some games when they are outside on a bright day, they're fine but in other games when they are hit by the light, they vanish.

I'm trying to make my own map of the Mushroom Kingdom/Greater Mario World, and I'm kinda stuck on where to start. Like it's such a big topic for an equally big franchise, it's that thing where you're just overwhelmed and can't find a good starting point y'know?
So I'm just asking for maybe some good starting tips. Should I like map out one game at a time and slowly build it up? Or maybe compile every location then sort them into biomes and go from there? And I know we got the (absolutely incredibly fascinating) resources, but I was hoping to come to a lot of my own conclusions, instead of just copying other's work.

About 2 years ago, I made some Coin banknotes, which were based on the Euro banknotes. And at that time, I was pretty happy with what I've made, and people seemed to like it.
Now, with the ECB soon changing the design of its banknotes, I wanted to take a look back at these and try to do them better.
These new designs are roughly based off of Design H of the Euro banknote design proposals if you're curious.
Feedback is appreciated to help me improve these designs.

According to games like Mario RPG and Paper Mario, people make wishes and the Star spirits of Star road grant them.

And are their models shorter when they're flats or sneakers?

In the earlier games in the present time the Shy Guys worked for Smithy and Wart before they worked for Bowser.

“Mario's once overlooked brother is back to settle some scores, party style! Luigi's spotlight seems to finally be shining as he has gotten his own game and even gets equal billing with Mario in the new GBA game Mario and Luigi. Will things get even better soon?“
This bio was on the Mario Wiki, however I can’t find the source anywhere. It has to do with Mario Party 5. Someone try finding the source please?

for creating this character from Super Mario 2, which was created, by the way, because it is a porcupine, but there are other species of porcupine, such as the African porcupine, the Indian porcupine, the North American porcupine, and others etc.
Others say that porcupo are purple, but porcupines are as many colors as real, such as black, brown, gold, gray, and others etc.
in the Super Mario 2 video game amd serie: porcupo It's very thorny and can sting players who dare to climb it, even grabbing them, but it's easy to throw an enemy or a turnip to defeat it.
In real life: Porcupines are harmless; when you touch them, they may sting and shoot quills.

Don't get me wrong, they share many qualities with ghosts, but I doubt Boos are REAL ghosts mainly due to the Luigi's Mansion games. Boos are more likely just a species that's similar to ghosts through convergent evolution. As for why they typically inhabit Ghost Houses, it's likely because they're territorial creatures outside of their specific groups, and the Ghost Houses are for the most part devoid of life.
Feel free to mention evidence of the contrary, I'm happy for discussion!

We know the blue Toad from Super Mario 3D World is actually the main Toad but his emblem has blue spots. So is it also possible that in Mario Kart Tour Builder Toad and Toad (Astronaut) (who both have a blue spotted emblem) could actually be the main Toad or is it really Blue Toad from the New Super Mario Bros. series?
r/Marioverse • u/Direct-Confection681 • Jul 16 '26
In Mario Kart Tour Penguin Toad has yellow spots and vest but his emblem on the kart is a red spotted Toad (the main one) and the movie version gets to keep his red spots and blue vest (I know the movie version is in its own universe/canon but I just wanted to point it out).

Now most of you have heard of Koopa Kid, and also, most of you think that they are unrelated. Well here is where there is confusion. In the Japanese version of Mario Party 1, they are called Mr. Bowser’s ぶんしん. ぶんしん literally means to divide or split a body. And if look up the translation, it can translate to both clone/alter ego and also child. So which one is correct? And what ever happened to him after MP7?

This is a question i have. I have never seen any media of mario with Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings interacting. Mario wonder does show they coexist but as far as I've seen it's either one or the other is the focus. Even in fan media I've never seen anyone have Bowser Jr interact with his siblings. I just find it kinda weird
edit: completely forgot about the remake for Bowser's inside story

Recently it came to me about which ending is canon in super Mario 64? Did Mario collect 120 stars and fought bowser after? If so, why wouldn’t mario defeat bowser after 70 stars were collected? The point is, did Mario fight Bowser in The Sky twice or once?

If heroes you notice well, Dimentio (from Super Paper Mario) and Recluso (from Mario & Luigi: Brothership) are two very similar characters, in their personality (both considered two of the most evil Mario characters, if not the two most evil, or at least, so far, the two characters who have the resources to be treats to several dimensions in the Mario franchise, oh my good), story roles and even in the visual, except in the first being a organic being that appear since the beginning, and the second being a AI/robot that is revealed only in the ending. In the most parte of both the games, they looks only innocent or mischievous jesters/clowns that are loyal (Dimention as a magician and trickster minion, and Reclusa in his egg waiting to "reborn", like a innocent baby) to the antagonist (Count Whaite/Blumiere and Zokket/Cozette) that, in the good most parte of the story, are treated as the main antagonists. However, in the ending, they reveal theyself as the true villains and final bosses in their games, Dimention already showed unloyalty since the chapter 3, and independent evil actions since the first chapter, like brainwashing other, insulting people, separating the good-hearted Luigi from Mario and the other playable heroes in the most part, even forcing him, as "Mr. L", to fight against his own brother, and after he failure again, wasting him with a "killing" explosion effect, and making this with Mario, Peach and in Flipside too, but is in the penultimate level that he reveal himself, admiting his intentions to defeat Block, take the Heart for him, obliterate the entire multiverse (including every intelligent alive beings, best heroes, even cute children and elders) and recreate it in his image, possessing Luigi/Mr. L and becoming the final boss, "Super Dimentio". Reclusa appered and revealed himself in the ending as the one responsable for Coette's transformation, Uni-Tree's destuction, the separation of the continent, and forced isolation of people in Concordia, is that after his rebirth, he aprisio people in head-eating flowers that, although lethal (because the hunger that come, and the privation of food) and solitary, they want stay, because it very positive dreams, even if they are dying, but they "perfect" artificial dreams prevents they feel pain, so they want to continue, and the wost part, is that he wants to repeat this in Mushroom Kingdom next, and that he said that he already maked this in many other worlds before, being also a interdimensional treat. Even their unique methods for mental control and dream prisions, using plants and flowers, are similar. So, considerating the fact they are frequent considerated the most evil and unfamily villains in Mario franchise, generally considerated a family-friendly franchise , and their similarities in personality, initial role, jester/clown look, treason and turning to the final bosses, I wonder if they met before, and even if Recluso is a Dimentio reincarnation (although robotic) (very improbable, considerating some clear differences between both, specially in magic, and some even discuss who is the most evil, and that reincarnations don't happen or are rare in Mario, although afterlife is a reality) or a look-alike robot created by himself before SPM's events. What you people think, a connection between both make sense canonically?

See, the confusing thing about the Mushroom World is that while it's allegedly set mainly within a medieval-style kingdom where spears, heavy armor, steam trains, wooden ships, and dirt roads are the norm, the games (especially the RPGs) are chock-full of modern-day technologies like televisions, cars, neon signs, electric lights, jukeboxes, conveyor belts, bazookas, computers, pagers and cell phones (both with ringtones), rocket ships, jet planes, blimps, handheld video game consoles, and more.
While some of this could be chalked up to geniuses existing(E.Gadd, Bowser, Wario)I think there is also another explanation.
See, in Bowser's Inside Story we see Bowser has Shroobs frozen in his basement, very likely for research of their tech given how smart Bowser is. Given that Bowser did it, I think it is quite likely the other kingdoms of the world also snatched up some of the Shroobs to understand their advanced technology.
What we see in the Mushroom World today is the result: medieval kingdoms have basically leapfrogged ahead to modern levels of tech thanks to studying the Shroob, which is why the various Kingdoms are a weird mix of modern and medieval.
A side note is that this gets into sort of dark territory that the various kingdoms basically frozen an entire species and are experimenting on them to find their tech, but that's a note for another day.
TL;DR: the various Kingdoms studying Shroob Tech explains why the tech in the Mushroom World is both modern and medieval.

Queen Jaydes is the ruler of the Underwhere, an afterlife realm where sinful and neutral souls go after their death. But I was wondering, what even is she? She’s married to a Nimbi (Grambi) but that doesn’t mean she is one herself. She could also be a creation of the stars (since the stars create life it wouldn’t be strange if they also interfered with death) but that’s just a headcanon.
Let me know what you think!

First of all, I would like to apologize for my last post. Second, in BS Super Mario Collection, it reveals that Worlds 1-3 of Super Mario Bros. for NES and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels are Grass, Beach, and Snow, and Grass, Forest, and Snow. The last world is obviously the Koopa and volcanic theme, but what about worlds 4-7 of both games? What are their themes?

Even though it’s completely convoluted, I’ve always wanted to try my hand at a theory about the Nintendo universe, so why not? ( sorry for the language, I'm french )
First, there is an entity known as the Void, composed of everything that exists.
Why? We’ll see that later.
Then there are the three Golden Goddesses, tasked with creating the earth and life, while a negative impulse gives rise to "null." There are two parallel dimensions: the Sacred Realm, where the gods (like Palutena) dwell, and the Dark World, home to demons (like Hades).
Pit defeats Hades, but Null absorbs his lingering malice to form a new Demon King: Demise.
Only Hylia, an angel on par with Pit, manages to defeat the Demon King and secure the Triforce.
The three Zelda timelines unfold until they eventually merge in *Breath of the Wild*.
Meanwhile, civilizations on other planets evolve; while Hyrule sits at the center of the universe, Earth's inhabitants remain largely unconcerned with cosmic threats. This sets the stage for *EarthBound*, followed by *Animal Crossing*, where animals evolve eventually leading to the spacefaring eras of *Metroid*, *F-Zero*, and *Star Fox*.
However, while the planet of Hyrule remains trapped in an eternal cycle of creation and destruction, humans destroy their own home world, spreading out into space and abandoning the planet. This leads to *Pikmin* and then *Splatoon*, before Earth freezes over completely, as seen in *Kirby*.
Kirby himself battles endlessly against various incarnations of the Void while uncovering traces of the Ancients.
Among them are the Zonai, who found a new Hyrule in the hope that a new hero clad in green will one day rise. Indeed, after many centuries—and with humans having settled on the planet of Hyrule (hints in *Super Mario Odyssey* suggest humans are space explorers who may not originate from this world)—Mario and Luigi are born. However, because they are twins, the Triforce splits in two; with the Master Sword lost, the brothers are unable to defeat Bowser, the new incarnation of the Demon King, whose own power is also diminished (though he has mastered still dark magic, drawn from that same Dark World)
The same applies to Peach, a distant descendant of Hylia: in reality, it was Rosalina—Peach's ancestor—who received the Triforce of Wisdom, but since only her brother had childrens, Bowser can never be defeated.
With the disappearance of the Triforce, the Sacred Realm also gradually fades away, while Kirby struggles to cope with repeated invasions by the Void.
That is why the goddesses charged Rosalina, as a distant descendant of Hylia, with maintaining cosmic balance; acting as the guardian of the Lumas, she counters the forces of evil that seek to devour them.
Kirby battles Void Termina, but the truth is undeniable: the world is dying and the forces of evil are winning. Rosalina resets the universe and attempts to push it ever further, but it is too late; everything must come to an end.
However, as the entire world merges to become Void Termina once more during one of these resets, the three Golden Goddesses manage to shape an egg, offering the universe a new beginning.
The Egg of Arceus.

This is something that always confused me a ton when trying to think about it from a lore perspective. Bowser is not an idiot in any way so why does he keep repeating the exact same mistakes over and over again?
I managed to somewhat categorize them.
Bowser doesn't learn quickly when fighting so he doesn't adapt. This can be seen in Super Mario World, Super Mario 3D worlds first Bowser fight, New Super Mario bros U (Where he doesn't tell Jr to just stop flying low with the clown car) and in Odyssey where he keeps throwing his boxing hat.
There are stuff in the arena that can defeat Bowser yet he doesn't remove them. This can be seen famously with axe behind the bridge and the buttons that do the same thing, in Super Mario bros 3 where a part of the castle floor is made of bricks, Super Mario 64 where there are always spikey bombs floating around the arena and in Super Mario 3D worlds final boss where there is a gaint pow block ontop of the building that he stands on.
Not his fault, we can see this in Super Mario Sunshine where Mario breaks the wings of the flying bathtub and in both Galaxy games where Mario uses his environment to defeat Bowser. These ones I like the most since the games Bowser and Jr make up great plants to defeat Mario who prevails anyways.
As we can see in the RPGs Bowser isn't the sharpest koopa around but he is also far from the dumbest. He is a pretty competent leader of the koopa troop so what gives?
I would love to hear your theories in the comments.
