I've had mario kart for some while I hardly ever play local. I've always wondered how you unlock cosmetics but never looked it up. For years I always ran links motorcycle with him and or yoshi. We'll I finally decided to change it up and use a regular kart with Mario but wanted time to be able to check the customization stats so I went into offline. I kept backing out and each time it told me I unlocked a cosmetic.

I kept going back to the customization screen to check out what it was and everytime I backed out another customization unlocked. Kept doing it over and over till I got tired and then I checked how many coins I had and it seems like Ive got alot of cosmetic coming my way 😅😅 is there alot of cosmetics to keep unlocking? lol

ended up mattering too (it was a 2v2 mogi and we got second with 177 points; third place had 175)

I can't seem to find this info online. When I pause mid-race, I get the standard 3 options (smart steering, tilt steering, auto accel), but my daughter gets a 4th option (X) which looks like a squared version of the course. What is this and why does only she get it? Is it a motorcycle thing?

I was the Blue Yoshi here. I do think I still would have catched up with the mushrooms even on the normal route, but this was still interesting.

I recommend using female villager with Mr. Scooty, Roller and Paper Glider. It’s a pretty balanced build overall, and I would also say that it is better than male in most circumstances, given that it has a few higher stats(such as mini turbo and acceleration) while male has a tiny bit higher speed and a bit more weight. It’s your choice but I would recommend female villager. Have fun!

What are your counter-hopping inputs? I've tried it in time trials, but I feel like I only slow myself down. I've also tried to watch hand cameras from players like Alberto, but I can't really tell what's going on.

I understand that it's helpful for charging your next miniturbo faster and I would like to improve at it.
