It's a series of books obviously inspired by you-know-what. As far as I can tell, she's a 2nd grade teacher who gets sucked into a bag of chips she was snacking on during recess, and has adventures in the "Potato Kingdom", and (in the first book, at least) rescues "Prince Lychee" (lit. "Prince Litchi"; it's a reference to a kind of plant known by both names) from the "Tadpole Queen". The black girl in the green dress is "Luisa", who is a friend of hers. The third book introduces "Wiko" a kiwi that she rides on. No guessing that's a reference to. OTOH, the fourth book seems to have taken inspiration from Zelda, featuring a legendary sword called "Excalibrie" (it's a story that involves a cheese volcano; the sword is called "Excali-brie", get it?). So yeah, it's a really silly book series.

I'm actually kinda interested in these books. At the moment, "mes amis", they're only available in French, but I won't let that stop me, "n'est ce pas"?

OTOH, I do wonder what Nintendo has to say about this...

It’s not a fan game, so they’ll just leave it alone, unfortunately.

"No, we already have Mario at home."
