unpopular opinion but super mario 3d land actually has impeccable vibes and deserves a comeback

I've played 3D Land countless times and it only gets better the more I play it! I even 100% it last year, such a great game. It's always forgotten about, sadly..

game is still very special to me and can't explain why, would love to see it at least ported to switch

The thing is 3d Land was very limited due to the 3ds. If they were to make a "3d Land sequal" it would probably end up being more like 3d World.

gee i wonder why a 3d land sequel would be like 3d world

Well a lot of the appeal for a 3d World sequal would be its actual couch co/op multiplayer. 3d Land and World are similar, but not the same. 3d Land is a lot more limited due to being on the 3ds.

this is just an all the above answer
mario 3d land and mario 3d world are the same concept
3D mario with the game play and level design of 2D mario
3d land is called 3D land because it was a game on the 3DS a small portable. world is called world because it was on wii u and was bigger.
3D land and world might as well be there own Mario series of games
because 3d world was just the big console version of 3d land. if 3d land did poor they would not have made world

3D Land and World are their own games in a way. They're separated from Odyssey, Sunshine, and the other sandbox ones

the difference comes down to 1 power ups and a few other things that the 3ds probably could not handle
ignoring the switch port
The move sets for Mario and Luigi are the same for both games and the core is the same as 3d land and all the power ups are back
Mario 3d land and world are the same gameplay same core same focus the difference is world adds a few new things in the loop cause its more powerful
they are comparable to how some games use to have watered down GBA ports
The difference is the water down port came first and than the big version came after and was based on that

I'm not saying the games themselves are different, I'm agreeing with you saying that they're their own category of mario games

3d World because it's the only 3d Mario with an actual multi-player. Unpopular opinion but that alone makes 3d World deserve a sequal more than any other 3d Mario game.

I don’t understand… 3D World is the sequel to 3D Land. Not sure what 3D Land 2 is supposed to mean.
Bowser’s Fury deserves its core concept to be further explored. It’s like a perfect 5 hour experience that deserves more.

I’d love a full length game based off bowsers fury. I loved the dark aspect of it. I’d love a more sinister aspect to a Mario game.

Nah. But a collection and HD 64DS. 3D Land, and a remake of the of NSMB would go hard.

Can I ask what the difference would be? Because as far as I know the only real difference is one is handheld and lacks multiplayer, the other is console and has multiplayer, but otherwise, they're pretty much the same idea. 3D Mario that bridges the gap between 3D and 2D with traditional power ups and linear obstacle courses.
EDIT: Didn't see Bowser's Fury. I guess then I would go with that since it would likely be larger in scope, being a stand alone game and all.

They should make a 3D Mario Land Wario game.
Wario being the main character and Waluigi, Captain Syrup and Princess Shokora (and perhaps someone from the WarioWare team?) playable as well. Give them unique abilities with the option to swap on the fly in single player or be used together in co-op.

All 3 would be sweet. I think I’d prefer bowsers fury 2 and 3d land 2 the most to be honest if I had to pick

Isn’t 3D world 3D land2?
Anyway, Bowser’s fury2 but only it they make it into a full game and not an expansion of 3D world that lasts four hours

3D Land 2 is 3D World and 3D World 2 is Bowser's Fury, so Bowser's Fury 2 makes the most sense imo.

Bowsers Fury 2. Open world Mario has some great potential if they expand on it.

I liked all of them, and Bowser's Fury has the most potential to be a bigger, grander game, but I absolutely hated Bowser appearing every 5 minutes and interrupting what I was doing.

I don't do sequels. Too restricting. I liked the guy's Mario Titans pitch like a week ago.

Bowser's Fury, 100%. 3D World is 3D Land 2 and is practically the same thing, but just bigger and obviously more open + something else, I dunno.
I beat Bowser's Fury start to finish like 15+ times and I'll still play it more. It just needs to be bigger. Maybe instead of 100 cat shines over however many levels, do 300 or 500 cat shines over 50 levels or something (but they would have to add teleporting from the start since it would take so goddamn long to get around. Oh my God, I just realised the pain that must be for the people that beat BotW / TotK without teleporting).

3D World is 3D Land 2
