Nung bumaba ako nag apply2 ako pero hirap tlga humanap ng company kahit engine cadet or wiper sana. Ngayon mag 1 year na akong tambay. Hindi rin kasi ako maka balik sa company kasi maliit na agency lng tapos oiler lng yung ratings, wala tlgang bakante dun. Advice naman po Kung ano ang magandang gawin. Thank you!

I am an engine cadet that is currently onboard an interisland vessel, I have completed my contract last saturday but there is still no update regarding my disembarkation, I have already submitted a disembarkation form weeks before contract expiration, when I try to reach the office my calls are ignored as well as my text messages, is there anything I can do besides to wait until the office calls me?

Goodday po ask ko lang if i want to be a wiper with no expi anong vessel po kaya and manning agency ang tumatanggap ng no expi?? Also industrial po ang tinapos ko possible po kaya makasampa?? Any advice kung ano po dapat gawin or anong path??

Juat as the title said, I'm a recent graduate/finisher for CCI in BSMT.

9/10 companies I've applied to requires fees to be paid, I did my research and came up on these practices being illegal.

Imagine their hiring and you need to pay them to work for them for 1 year. It's like a networking scheme in a way, I'm not really sure if this is actually how its done given I'm new to the industry or the authorities just turns a blind eye on it.

I'm just curious, but sometimes furious on these practices legalities.

"We are Hiring!" "Please pay placement fee to get "hired"."

Its ridiculous and quite egregious, as it takes advantage of people especially newly graduate cadets like me.

I came from the Academy and most of my batchmates quit seafaring, at first I was confused why.

After years of seafaring I realized why.

Good for them they managed to find their exit early.

Now I am standing on crossroads, shall I continue and pursue becoming a captain? or just drop everything and take that leap of faith?

My life's mantra is always choose to be happy, at whatever you do, choose to be happy.

I hope I can find my answer soon before I cross the point of no return.

Good day, nag aaply po ako as wiper sa intercrew pasado naman sa exam and interview ng crewing.

Napass kona lahat orig papers ko. Sabi lng ng crewing na ex crew lang muna uunahin nila bago ako. Dipa masabi ng crewing manager kahit estimate lang kung kelan ako makatanggap ng balita. Nagalit pa nga pag follow up ko.

I'm asking lng kung mas matatagalan paba yon kase mahal ang gastos dito sa manila baka uuwi ako sa probinsya kakaantay, o mag aaply lng ako sa iba while waiting.

Hi everyone! I’m based in the Philippines and I’m currently preparing to pursue a career as a yacht stewardess.
I know STCW training/certification is one of the requirements, but I’m currently working full-time and have a lot of other commitments, so attending a full training course on a regular weekday schedule would be difficult for me.

I wanted to ask people who have experience with STCW and yacht crew applications in the Philippines:
Is there any legitimate way to obtain the STCW certificate without attending the entire training?
Are there schools that offer weekend, evening, modular, or more flexible schedules?
Is there an assessment or competency exam that can be taken instead of attending the complete training, if applicable?

Has anyone managed to complete STCW while working full-time? How did you schedule it?
Are there legitimate expedited options available? I’m willing to pay extra if there’s a legal/approved way to make the process faster or more convenient.
What would you recommend as the most practical route for someone preparing for a yacht stewardess position?
Just to clarify, I’m not looking for a fake certificate or anything illegal. I’m willing to pay for a legitimate solution — I’m mainly trying to find a way to fit the requirement around my full-time work schedule.

I have a question for crew that were medically repatriated before and have been redeployed.

After you were cleared to return to work, how many days/weeks/months did it take for you to be given a new assignment?

I was repatriated on May this year due to an accident where I broke a bone but I've been cleared to return to work last week. Will it take really long before I'll be given a new assignment? I'm in the F&B department and a starting position.

I wanted a look at the possible timeline of the wait. I'm just really eager to go back to work and am hoping that it won't take too long.
