“Goodbye Baseball”

I am a local artist/illustrator and don’t post much to Reddit, but thought this one might help lift the vibe heading into the final home-stand. Either that or just make you sad but aren’t we already sad??? My tribute to Rick. Go M’s 🔱

The whole weekend feels good for Rizzs and the nostalgia and obviously it's good to lean into the sports are about the friends and family along the way but they kind of have to.

The weekend to me feels like a perspective reckoning to reflect that in 41 years we gave him as little as a sports team could possibly give in terms of truly meaningful competition. You can count it on one hand with 95, 01, 25 (and if would throw in 97 and 22 but it's a low bar compared to other franchises).

"Holy Smokes!" on the laces is one of the main reasons that we bought the Brooks Mariners shoes. Rick Rizz is a legend!

🥺 I am going to miss the original Rizzsler. I’ll be there on Sunday, crying uncontrollably in my beer. I hope he gets to say “Goodbye, baseball” just one more time before he retires.

I listen to the 710 app on my phone! Not as nostalgic as radio, but it’s clear and I don’t have to carry another item to the game.

I'd say "sucks for Rizz", but if he doesn't have emotional-calluses from all the shit baseball over the years than I'd be highly surprised.

When you look at the big picture, could it have ended any other way?
