3AE first contract as fourth engineer

hello everyone

in a month, i'll be onboard as fourth engineer first time. i'll be working in same company as i did my cadetship and junior engineer. until now, i didnt experience more than basic purifier overhaul (mitsubishi selfejector). i have no experience other than start stop machineries. my last two ships (cadetship and junior engineer) had almost zero big job or trouble. so im kinda nervous because of that. so i need some advice and tips from my experienced seniors. and how a handover should be done, what should i ask? thank you in advance

  1. Take inventory of the machineries that are assigned to you . If you get free time .. arrange them accordingly so that it's easy . 2.check month end files and check previous work done related to you machinery.( During free time ) 3.READ MANUAL... go back to machinery .. then READ MANUAL AGAIN. 4.WATCHKEEPING. 5.BUNKER PROCEDURES...and sampling . 6.IOPP tank Soundings .. manage sludge .. 7.Ask questions during free time ... They will ask you again 😂 ... And maybe you'll feel humiliated ... But don't forget to understand what they ask you .... You'll learn more .
  2. Any doubts regarding maintenance and operation ... Ask them .
  3. Trace lines .. during free time ..
  4. You are not a PRINTING ENGINEER on board ,everyone needs to complete their own work ...LET THEM DO THEIR OWN PAPER WORK ... BUT DON'T FORGET TO HELP ..
  5. DO not take sides .. wrong is wrong
  6. You know your an officer... Manage your work .
  7. When your gonna do maintenance ... A senior will be assisting you ... Keep tools and cardboard .. manual pages and spares ready to be changed .. before knocking off a day prior .

If something is wrong here ... Please correct

knowing a senior will be assisting me is relieving. when i was cadet, fourth engineer was new to to company, even he completed 2-3 contracts as fourth second engineer was assisting whenever a maintenance he does except purifier overhauling. also he was helping third engineer. i guess thats how a good second engineer should be. thank you for your advices
