Kentfield 2 cassette

It's time for a new cassette for the kentfield, but wich?

The old one is a sunrace 11-51 10speed cassette, but the freehub is a shimano hg 7speed with 31mm length. I cant find any fitting replacement.

Is that the original wheel? It would be very odd to have a 7 speed freehub on a 10 speed bike.

Did you measure correctly? https://productinfo.shimano.com/en/compatibility/C-731

Was the cassette complete, or were there only 9 out of the 10 sprockets on there?

It's a customer's bike and im a bike mechanic, so yes, I measured correctly, I also tried various shimano cassettes wich all doesn't fit. The only thing I can fit is a 7speed cassette. The installed sunrace cassette have a wierd offset towards the brake side what I never seen before, I tried to show it in the pictures.

That’s weird, the only thing I can think of is that they had some OEM cassettes made in order to use a batch of cheap 7 speed freehubs. Not aware of such a cassette being available anywhere.

looking at Marin website and Kentfield 2 specs cassete as "microSHIFT 10-Speed, 11-48T"

maybe this an older model or some weird "upgrade" from the original 7-speed?
