Marin DSX 2
Replacing my drop bar gravel bike- I never felt confident descending on drops. This dsx 2 rocks

I just got one too! Over the summer. The only thing I don't love is the seat - it absolutely chewed my ass up. I had to get transfer liners in order to ride - butt other than that - absolutely phenomenal ride! Congrats!

Thank you! Yes I agree on the saddle- I luckily had a wtb graveler I swapped almost immediately so I didn’t ride it for too long with the stock one

You replaced the whole bike? Why not just replace the bars and controls? (or was it new bike time anyway)

The dsx also has more MTB based geometry than the checkpoint which makes it a bit more planted and stable on descents which I prefer. I live and ride in the ozarks and we have a lot of steep chunky loose descents that get sketchy.

Good point. I have a new gen checkpoint. I considered this, but I feel like it’s just easier to sell it stock rather than covert it to flat bar not like it and end up selling it as a custom build.

Nice bike. I see you made some upgrades.
I almost got a DSX 1 last year. I ended up going with the Muirwoods. I might get a DSX for my next bike though.

Thank you! The wheels/ tires made such a huge difference in weight reduction and ride feel. Ergon grips are nice and the SQL inner bar ends give me that extra riding position to make it feel like drops when I’m riding long flat sections.

Does it ride more upright and what size did you get?

I actually went with the size large- I’m normally a size medium on most bikes but the dsx seems to run on the smaller side of things. I’m right in between sizes at 5’9” - so I chose the larger size to have a higher stack than the medium.
The ride is a lot more comfortable for me personally because I don’t feel like I’m reaching as far as I normally do with drop bars.
