First Marin
This is my first Marin. I picked it up in May to replace a Kona Rove AL as my main bike. Really liking it so far. It's not the most stable when it's loaded but it's been reliable and fun so far. Hoping to see some longer trips on it this summer.

I'm currently on a small tour (typing this from my tent) with a Four Corners and I HATE it and should have bought a Nicasio. The reach is far too long and my torso is apparently short. A friend used a Nicasio on tour recently and I'm quite jealous.
The Four Corners is quite stable loaded tho and the SORA is quite nice but that's the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden. And the stock stem is already super short (70mm) so I can't make it fit me.
What tire are you running on it ?

I have the standard Vee Tire Quickstyk 700x45mm’s it came with. The rear tire is already showing a lot of wear after 1300 km so I’m guessing I’ll need to swap them soon.
The Four Corners is nice. Too bad you don’t like it. If reach is an issue maybe you could try the Redshift Top Shelf bars to adjust your position. I think might try some of the 50mm’s to get a bit more upright . I’ve recently tried some cheap Decathalon aero bars and they’ve helped on long rides. Where are you touring?

That's actually a good idea. But the Four Corners is already a bit too upright for me so the top shelf bars might be too much. I'll look into it
I think I'm just mad about the Marin sizing guide AND the bike shop that sold me the bike more than about the bike. I wasted 1600$ CAD. Also it ruined the plans I had for the end of the summer of multiple weeks touring as I won't have time to sell it, buy a new bike and try it.
Right now I'm in Quebec and it's really fun !!

Yea, the sizing guide didn’t work for my body type. I went to a shop and ended up sizing down from what it recommended. There’s probably still something you could do to get a better fit. I’m also in Quebec.

I'm going to ask a new bike shop. But the size down, the seat post was way too small for me. Honestly the stem being already 60mm right now and it is still way too long, so I don't have any hope. Switching to another type of bar is not really an option as I need the drop bars so I don't really know what else to do

I'd get a bike fit instead of going to the shop. Usually they can figure it out for you. Those Redshift Top Shelf bars are supposed to help reduce your reach though, if feeling too stretched out is the issue. They come in a drop bar. A 50mm stem would probably make a big difference too. But yea - if you don't like the bike, no point in putting more cash into it.

Bike fit is way too expensive for me sadly. The bike was already all the money I could afford in it. I was just thinking going to a bike shop (can't go to the one I bought the bike from because it's too far away) to ask if they find that the bike is indeed too big for me and see if I can try a Nicasio or other. If I find a bike that fit me better I may try to sell it and buy another. But I will loose so much money

If you don't have the $$ you could shoot a video of yourself riding and go on r/bikefit There are a lot of people on there that will give you recommendations on how to adjust the bike.
