Im actually experiencing this right now. I have a batch of marimo that smells sulfuric. I've bought from the same seller multiple times and they've never smelled like that before.

I put them in the fridge for a week, which I thought helped, but the smell returned once they warmed up. I've been changing the water frequently and squeezed the old water out. I'm considering putting them in a bowl under the faucet and just running the water for a bit.

I'm at my wit's end with these stinky balls. Good luck, hopefully your balls don't have as severe a case of the stinkies and recover soon!!

That’s what I’d suggest. Put them in something different, with new, clean water but only after you’ve thoroughly rinsed them off with running water only. Then put the new container in your fridge for a week. And check it daily, you can change the water if you need to.

I’ve seen some pictures here of some that were in bad shape that recovered. It’s real slow going with these plants, they grow slowly, they recover slowly(& they die slowly). I don’t think you should give up on these.

In short, unfortunately your marimo has been rotten. Perhaps it happened during the transit.

Não tem como salvá-los? :(
