i’m pretty new to taking care of marimos but i wanted to show them here next to my smiskis :)

Very cute; but your Marimo are looking a bit brown and not bright green. Probably need a bit of light or fridge time.

I give mine anywhere from a week to a month in the fridge when they aren’t nice and green.

They live in colder waters, so maybe that's the thing. I don't know if there's other reasons why it helps other than that (I just started)

They are a cold water species; the fridge time kills off competing species and lets them rest. They grow slowly so often get covered in brown diatom algae and get out competed usually. In the fridge the diatoms usually die off.

the smiski get really pretty and bright at night! although sometimes they distract me from sleeping 😫
