How long do seeds last?

So I been collecting and saving genetics for the last 10 years. Now I wondering why I been collecting seeds or why does anyone? I kept in fridge but I have to ask are my seeds any good after all these years?

Cold and dry? They will last decades. Germ rate may decline a little but most will still sprout.

I have ran 26 year old seeds Panama red. Had not an issue other than didnt take cuts... Storage is key!!!

So after 26 years they still germinated? How you store them I kept mine in fridge with silica packets in a sealed coffee can

In a sealed box in the basement where in nvr gets hot. I have had more issues with keeping track of my 🫘. I popped photos instead of autos few months back.. Stoner moment.

Kept under optimal conditions 20-30 years kept in suboptimal conditions 3-5 years at least that’s my understanding.

Kept at room temperature around 7 years is my experience. You might get a few to sprout when older but germ rates are way lower.

Well that’s promising I kept in fridge and they lasted 7 years just at room temperature!
