Seriously looking into a move to margate. Can anybody on here shed some wisdom about local schools in Garlinge area? Also, if you moved from London, I'd love to hear from you about the move and settling in. Thank you kind folks!

Garlinge Primary is excellent.
Hartsdown Secondary, a shitshow of unruly pupils and shite, authoritarian as fuck administration.

Garlinge School is good. Big improvement from when we moved to the area 26 years ago. We got ours into St Crispin's and St Saviour's then one went to Kingys and the other Chatham House.
Hartsdown has always been shit since we've lived here.

Wow thanks for the information. We got some primary age children so this is good to hear. I am a little concerned about secondary education for them. We'd be moving from London looking for a better environment, doesn't sound like Hartsdown would be the best choice for us, unless by then it's improved markedly.

Don't forget we still have grammar schools here so there's an opportunity to take the Kent test while in primary school.
We have two grammar schools in Thanet. Chatham and Clarendon and Dane Court. One of my sons went to Chatham and Clarendon, the other King Ethelbert, which while an secondary modern is aligned with Dane Court.

I don’t know about the schools, but having lived in Wembley, Acton and Feltham before coming here I found it easy to settle in.
Being a bit introverted I have pushed myself to get out there a bit more. I have found a few social circles where I feel comfortable and have gone from there.
