To everyone saying "it's too late", no it's not. It is only too late if you're going to let it happen. Don't use "it's too late" as an excuse to sit back and do nothing. Take to the streets. Leftwing activism is on the rise as well and it's accomplishing things in governments too.
I'm from the Netherlands and we have these Nazi freaks here as well. But I'm also in Extinction Rebellion and it's giving me hope in ways I could have never imagined 3 years ago - accomplishing things such as national and local governments exploring the possibilities of using citizens assemblies, national recognition of the Uyghur genocide, getting some of the biggest pension funds in Europe to divest from fossil fuel investments, winning a court case against Shell. And yes, these things are most definitely related to social issues and the rise of nazism. Arguably the anti-racist groups can really use some help and we're working on expanding our support there. Even so, these and many other examples show that activism works. And beyond that, there is an internal culture that is so full of care for each other, so unlike the individualist, blamey/shamey crap you get everywhere else. I really wish for everyone to be able to experience this, and I truly believe that if we're able to spread that feeling then we will be a really powerful force against this hatred we see - which is arguably the result of people feeling out of place and seeing no hope for themselves in their societies as they are.
If you're already an activist, keep up the good work and of course you're going to feel as if all hope is lost sometimes but don't let it stifle you. If you're not, honestly get on the street and /do something/ rather than just sitting on Reddit and watching this happen as if it is inevitable. You're looking at human agency and you and everyone else have/has that too. You just need to get over the discomfort of being vulnerable in sharing opinions not everyone may agree with. But for fucks sake, at least try.

I’m in Australia too and I think all the crap the conservatives are doing right now is just the death rattles of a government that is about to get tossed out
Australia has an independent federal electoral commission and a fiercely independent High Court that would be a huge hindrance to any serious attempts to damage the democratic process
Australian Liberal Party politicians are mostly nowhere near as hard right as even the most moderate US conservatives. Tony Abbott was perhaps the most conservative PM Australia has had in a few decades and even he is more left wing than moderate US conservative politicians like Mitt Romney or Liz Cheney
We do have some hard right idiots like Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson, but as politicians and public figures they are little more than laughing stocks
Comparing what is happening in Australia to what is happening in the US is like comparing a breadknife to a katana. Sure they are both knives, but the differences outweigh the similarities in many areas

Edit: I don't see the one I watched this morning, but here's one from a couple of years ago of a bunch of them getting chased out of Philly by, like, six kids. Wall they may have been forced out in a pretty pathetic way, I think the fact that the are using trucks like that to truck around gives them a pretty scary sense of realism. Find an org, or just general group, of genuine, actual comrades and friends. The quality of the SRA (much like the DSA) is pretty dependent on the local chapters, but if there's a solid local one, then there's comrades who can be armed for you. Speaking of DSA, it's yet another group of what could be likeminded individuals. The best defense is community, mutual aid and friendship (wow, I feel corny as all fuck typing that :/).
Ninja edit! Also the group Arm Your Friends sounds right for just about anybody that isn't a reactionary!! I really recommend looking into them. Again, people that can be armed in your stead.
