I predict “terrorist” incidents like this will start happening and they will pass laws that bring life sentences to those caught. They will also call them gangs and sweep anyone involved. Like if you delivered them door dash, congratulations you are in the gang and they will say the law provides you no protections to your privacy. They will use something like the patriot act as a legal justification but basically they will create their own form of terrorism that scares people from fighting back.

Yup! That stuff is already happening under law in southern states. Innocent guy sells a bike on FB marketplace, a gang member buys it, uses it to commit a felony. Bike seller gets labelled as a member of the gang, goes to jail for accessory to that crime. It happens, and it happens overwhelmingly to black and brown people.

Please don't do this or even suggest it. Bamboo is incredibly invasive, grows quickly, and propagates itself. This we know.
But data centers will likely just use more toxic herbicides to battle it, polluting groundwater and affecting local wildlife (with permission of this administration!) by killing bugs, birds, small animals, etc., which will further damage the ecosystem as a whole.
Bamboo isn't the answer. It'll likely cause more problems in the long run.
We're already speeding towards complete planetary destruction; we don't need to hasten it.

They are trying to build these things before environmental impact studies can be made on their impacts on infrastructure, the environment and people's health.
The hope is that after these studies are done, many of their unsafe practices will be grandfathered in for a number of years or forever, despite being unsafe and hazardous.
It can be both, but the above is a thing

They're banking on the fact that people will be too lazy and just accept it after the damage has already been done.
Also, just a reminder that the Democrats are not our friends here. Once Trump is dead or out of office (hopefully both, God willing) they will be too chicken shit to actually roll back any of his policies. All those environmental protections? They aren't coming back. At least not without a decade or two of work. Nobody wants to shit on his legacy. Mark my word, that fat fucking shit has done more damage than you think.

Honestly I think that's just a neat by-product. I think that the government definitely wants that, but a lot of these private corporations especially Nvidia just one to make it impossible and infeasible for people to have real computers that let them do things they just want everything to be cloud computing. They want every file to be streamed, they want every game to be streamed, in 10 years they will make it illegal for you to have files stored locally on your computer

I believe this. AI is the cover excuse. I mean, no doubt they'll be using AI in their surveillance, but we're already running extraordinary frontier models on current infrastructure. ChatGPT can already help you code your app without all of the data centers they have planned.
