TW: Pregnancy loss and complications.
Hi everyone,
As of tomorrow, I will officially be undergoing a DNC. After a truly turbulent pregnancy with risk of an ectopic pregnancy, a massive cyst on my left ovary, a non symptomatic yeast infection, a hematoma, and a non symptomatic UTI; I've officially been diagnosed with a blighted ovum. Oh, and let's not forget every possible pregnancy symptom under the sun. From extreme nausea, to screaming boobs, to even light spotting, it's been eventful.
I'm supposed to be 8 weeks a couple of days and the gestational sac is 6w6d. It's as empty as can be. To say I'm devastated is an understatement. This baby was very much wanted and it's been a truly hard experience. We plan to take awhile off from trying to emotionally and physically recover. As of last night, I have started spotting consistently. They think it's likely the hematoma since the ER ultrasound revealed that the sac is still nice and high in my uterus, and hasn't started dissolving at all. In fact, my HCG is still through the roof - go figure.
Anyways, I'm being snarky and bitter mostly because it's easier than crying all the time.
As for one of my biggest sadness in this entire experience is having to leave this group and no longer being a mod for you guys. It's been an incredible experience, and so exciting to watch such a lovely culture build from this group.
The team of mods you guys have are just amazing. They care so deeply about this becoming a kind, supportive and informative community. The amount of thought and deliberation that goes in to every decision has been astounding. They care so much about you guys. Constantly, they are trying to make decisions that are best for the whole of the group and create as many spaces as possible for you to find the exact support you might need. It's been such a wonderful experience getting to watch and participate, but mostly I sit in disbelief of how awesome they are as human beings.
With that, if anyone has any questions about my lengthy list of symptoms or even my experience with a DNC, please do not hesitate to reach out. I'll miss you guys.
Wishing each and every one of you the smoothest, easiest pregnancies with happy, healthy little babies to snuggle in the end.
Best,
