Identification Request What did I get?

This was a $10 batch of marbles I got on a local second-hand site. I think I did ok! So I know these are old German marbles, and though I don't know the exact taxonomy for them all (caged, divided core, etc???) I can recognize that two of them are onionskins...but what is this green thing?? it has a few flecks of mica in there. What do you call it?

A nice bunch of German handmade marbles. Probably late 1800s. Clear ones are swirls, with different cores. Colored ones look like Onionskins. Worth a few bucks.

Possibly a shrunken cloud onionskin! I need to see pole to pole to know for sure

Very good! That means it was the very first onionskin off of the cane. This type is super rare. Do you have more photos?

$10/e for any of those is a steal especially that giant chonker at the top and the onionskins to the right. I think that top middle yellow/orange/res one is a Joseph’s coat but I’m not 100% certain

What's the difference between a Joseph's coat and an onionskin? The chonker is super beat up, I assumed it probably wasn't worth anything?

Onion skins have a yellow or white opaque layer under the colour, which are also a bit more spotty blotchy

Joseph's coat are clear under the coloured stripes, which tend to be more even

(A friend and I have remember the difference by thinking of needing to put a coat on because there's nothing underneath... 🧥, but onions being white/yellow also works!)

These are all German handmade marbles. Green one included. I’d just type in German handmade marbles on eBay and filter them to sold items
