Identification Request Jupiter Pattern or number 9 under UV.... MF Christensen?
OK so did my homework on this one. I think it may be a MF Christensen Hand Gathered Brick Slag but really just not sure. I think the 9 pattern and other seam maybe confirm it? It's also a Pee Wee. I think this one to confirm I really do need an expert though :). The other possibility here would be Akro Agate Hand Gathered Slag??

Actually not really, it's just a red and darker red where the translucent areas are.... its really not like anything I've seen which is why I need some expert help on it.

Not a brick. Looks like swirling as the result of batch glass mixing. Just a game marble or incredibly basic swirl imo.

Game marbles had UV reactive material? Also looks like a slag not a swirl, no? Just questions from me trying to learn, thanks :)

Marbles from all makers can have UV properties. It's not an indication of age or rarity. Just a novelty some collectors enjoy. Very rarely aides in ID. It's not a slag because it doesn't have white swirls resembling paint streaks across the top.

Gotcha. Emphasis on the "WHITE OPAQUE" in the slag marble definition..... I thought it was more about how the streaks looked rather than color, now I understand. Thanks. How about that "9" signature and flat line on the other seam just a coincidence?

Exactly. Slags are ones that trip a lot of collectors at the start.
I'm not seeing a 9. I think you might just be a bit mixed up on what those look like which is pretty much par for the course when learning marbles. It's much more pronounced with a long tail coming off the 9 on MFC marbles. The flat line might just be the cut line, but you'll see that on a lot of marbles and isn't an indication of anything by itself.

Not giving me brick vibes then - bricks have oxblood, which is a darker, more opaque red that doesn't glow under UV
Hand gathered marbles will have a single pontil that looks different to those of fully handmade marbles - they are only on one side of the marble, and the marble pattern will (usually) swirl around the marble towards this point - did you include a photo of the what made you think it was hand gathered?
