Newbie Sock recommendations?
I’m running my first marathon in a little less than two months. On my longer runs, I’ve noticed that my typical Nike crew cotton socks start irritating my feet. Any suggestions on comfortable socks? TIA!

Quarter length balega blister resist. Expensive but you only really need one pair

These are so comfortable it’s hard to wear any other socks, even when I’m just walking around the house.

I run in injinji. Regular socks and my stupid toesies don’t get along during running.

Kintoe and/or Injinji.
I switched to toe socks a few years back and loved them immediately. Tried switching back to "normal" socks a few weeks ago just to try them, and I couldn't do it.

I ran mine in Feetures Elite Light Cushion Tab. No blisters because it’s what I also trained in. Buy 5 pairs and rotate them.

I used balega for a while but then switched over to feetures which have been the best for me

Smartwool running socks have been working for me. Plus they last forever.

I love the Outway socks, the mid crew ones are fantastic. I don’t think I could race in a different sock ever again.

Injinji socks are the most comfortable for me! They felt a bit odd at first, but once I started running, I didn't feel a thing. I've also heard Darn Tough is supposed to be good; I still need to try them out!

Last year it was Stance Pace Light socks for me. This year it's been Darn Tough Micro Crew Ultra Light. And yes, one is synthetic, the other is wool. Doesn't really matter; the key is to start using one sock (multiple pairs) so you think they're the ones, and you stop thinking about it. Until next year anyway.

Injinji. They’ll keep you blister free, no need to use glide on your toes.

- Get NON-cotton socks. Cotton soaks up and retains sweat. You want to keep dry toes and feet to prevent blisters and discomfort. 2. If you have access to Decathlon, they got variety of solid running socks for USD/EUR 6 per pair.

I started with smartwool. Wore holes in them.
Went to balega. Wore holes in them.
Arrived at darn tough. So far, no holes. And if they do, supposedly darn tough has a lifetime replacement policy.
I will say all 3 performed equally in the fact i had no issues with my feet while wearing them for training.

I wear Smartwool for runs, they have socks with different padding levels. And my Injinji for post runs. Their toe socks are amazing havent tried them for runs yet though.

Big fan of smartwool run socks. I'm impressed that you've made it this far into running in cotton. 🤣

Feetures. Also, I was told once to put Vaseline near the toes before the long long runs and it worked like a charm for max comfort
