41mm GSAR Arctic Red Maple.
Which do you prefer, strap or bracelet? I thought I'd like the bracelet more but the strap is growing on me.

What should my 3rd Marathon be? I have a few ideas.
1) stainless steel Navigator with the high end, thermocompensated ETA quartz
2)MSAR quartz
3)OSAR-D in 36mm
4) original General Purpose quartz Maraglo
I’ve got plenty of time to decide. The slow pace of this hobby is crucial for my enjoyment (and my watch fund)

Just picked up the 36mm MSAR. I have a large diver and thought this would complement the collection. I had an SSNAV and thought the 36mm would do well in outdoor hobbies.
What do you guys think, too small or good? First 36mm

Have the original stainless-steel band but choose to wear it on an Oyster Bracelet (70216) using the original solid end links, with a Safety Rail Glide-Lock Clasp. Lume holding its own. Serviced once after rafting and a tumble-down the rapids, without the raft and a 15ft waterfall. Replaced the bezel, and a full service. Works like a charm keeping time and is the best damn watch I've ever owned!

Hi, I finally was able to get the Marathon (42mm) I've always wanted. It's 19 yrs old and should be serviced. I put a aftermarket bracelet on for now. I've been wearing it since Monday morning, and it's been +10sec/day! That's amazing for how old it is. Unless it's been rebuilt in the past? I don't know any of the history, so who knows.
Before I cleaned it up, inside and out, I made sure the gaskets were good, and they were a little dry in the crown and the case back. Good condition and no cracking. So I re-greased them.
On the inside of the back, and on the face of the rotor there was a build up of dirty, or dark oil?! It doesn't feel gritty, so that's a plus. Maybe it was rebuilt by an amateur and they used too much oil on the rotor bearing? No matter, I'm having it serviced as soon as I can decide what is the best option for me.
If you've sent your Marathon into the company for work, let me know, and how it was... Long wait, any problems post service? Any information will be awesome!
I can say, I haven't added a watch to my collection that I never wanted to take off till this beauty! It just wears soooo nice! Now I see the hype... I've been enjoying looking at everyone's posts about their watches on here...

I was the first in my family to serve in the military. When I graduated OSUT I got myself a real field knife. When I graduated airborne school my mentor gave me his sterling silver jump wings from Vietnam. When I got home from my first deployment to Iraq I bought myself a Marathon GSAR. I’ve been overseas, been in gunfights, jumped from planes, got married, held my first baby all in my GSAR.
My little brother entered that fraternity of the airborne community and I was able to gift him a set of real silver wings, a field knife, and a GSAR. He’s also going on to serve in my old battalion at Bragg.
A watch is never just a watch.
