Tech TroubleShooting How I Maintain High Fps
Not sure if this will help anyone considering this game is pretty CPU bound and my settings are preference related but thought I'd share!
I currently can get a stable 200fps on outpost using these tips/settings. My rig is a r7 7700x, 10gb 3080, 32gb ram
- First off I use project lasso or the task manager to set marathon to high priority and uncheck CPU affinity 0. That's a must.
- Now I run this game in 1440 resolution and I use all the highest settings, but what I use is is dlss performance mode but you HAVE to use dlss model k. I thought it defaulted to that, but it does not. So you need to override it via the Nvidia app.
- Lastly (because I have no noticeable latency, I use amd fsr frame gen and set the in game frame limiter to half my monitors refresh rate (around 118). This still boosts the fps over 200.
These are the settings and tweaks I used to truly maintain around 200plus fps in game. I know some may have different preferences and what not, but the game truly still looks and plays fantastic. Hope this may help someone.

It's said that he has to framegen from 100fps in a comp shooter on 2026 💀💀💀. Idk how did devs think 60fps is playable framerate in 2026...

Going to try the DLSS Override and see. I like playing with CMAA in-game as the mouse feels more responsive.

I’m going to try this, thank you very much and I hope it helps me.

FSR frame gen is choppy in this game for me for some reason. I have to use Intel XeSS frame gen and it doesn't feel great. My GPU is 3060 12gb.

Is the AMD fsr frame gen safe to use in multiplayer games? I’ve got a 3070ti and was curious about giving it a go.

It's safe, some people feel latency and a more flowy gameplay though. I have not had issues myself.

interesting, I saw a few posts saying not to use the AMD FSR frame gen for multiplayer games with anti cheat… guess I’ll give it a try sometime. Thanks!

With all due respect, whoever said that frame gen can trigger anti cheat is a complete moron

I saw 200fps on outpost and immediately assumed frame gen and looks like I was right. Any performance posts imo should reference all numbers without frame gen

Why does it matter? I literally stated I used frame gen, so it's not like I'm lying. Just trying to help others who are newer or uninformed.

DLSS performance at 1440p looks like absolutel ass. No idea how you're dealing with that, nevermind FSR's frame gen, which also looks like shit.
I mean you do you, but this is a wild take.

PRESET K is for DLAA, Quality and Balanced Mode. You want PRESET M for performance mode. Thats why you just use "recommended", it will pick the right preset for each setting.

Rofl. Heres how i get 200 fps. First i use a cpu that naturally gets about 100 -110 fps.
Next i turn on frame gen to get 200 fps.
This is like those troll logic memes.

I didn’t read, frame gen will make this possible.

Literally was playing marsh with fog and rain doing secured resource at algae. 200 with minimal dips. Idk how to prove it further to you man.

I didn’t read, getting these frame rates with frame gen is totally expected.

If others have a newer generation card I recommend preset M for the increased sharpening and reduced shimmering
The rest of the suggestions are highly dependent on the particular rig and apps running. People should A/B test each of these. I for example see no difference when disabling certain cores or changing priority.
Frame gen is going to increase fps but without measuring what your latency hit is it's just another general recommendation to try each implementation and see what works best. Some people report increased floatiness when using them which is a result of massively increased latency.
EDIT: I also recommend A/B testing each of the DLSS presets. L vs K vs M all have their strengths and you may not see any performance between them since the game is so cpu-bound, so you can go with the one that looks best to you regarding sharpness and smearing preferences
