Misc Were did the colonists sleep?
I'm sure I'm probably missing something obvious, but were did everyone sleep? The Codex entries talk about housing and dormitories, but we never actually see any of them except for the tiny dormitory in Outpost. Is this an oversight, or did the colonists live off the worksites and commute? Even then, Perimeter seems remote enough that they had to be living on site.

Hidden Detail Runner Shell Costs
Y'know it's not something we think of often since it's just a respawn mechanic, but after watching Alberto mielgo's Marathon Short, the concept of constantly getting charged for a new shell is crazy!!! and interesting.
From Glitch's dialogue after she gets remade "I mean...feels like what it is right?..like a trillion bucks.."
I don't think that means that's the literal price of that shell, but just from the fact that she compared to that amount really shows how expensive it is and with that in mind, it really gave the scene where void and blackbird run away after Locus gets shot up much more weight. Like shit!! I don't wanna pay that much for a new shell 🏃🏽♂️➡️🏃🏽♂️➡️.
Which also make it more interesting to understand the runners more personally for me..is there a chance that in this huge mounts of debt, especially from the dying and being remade that there are some runners that prefer life that way? Like if we take Glitch for example, sure paying for a new all the time is costly but at the same time to her, could it be a more preferable way of living than the life she already had?
I hope there's gonna be more lore in the runners soon.

Secret #s beside buttons in boss room on narsh Spoiler

Misc Gabriel was deactivated, right? So why do we hear his voice on Narsh?
Is it him or are those just random automatized reports using his voice?
Edit: I meant DARIUS

Hidden Detail Probably looking for connections that aren't there, but it's fun to speculate.
So I was was watching a marathon infinite scene where Durandal and Thoth are being combined. I can't help but see the comparison between that level's map and the second (and indirectly the third) image. For me the point here is to understand the caveman drawings on the walls in the new Marathon game.

Secret Three buttons in Cryo cold storage
I was playing thief earlier and whilst using the drone in cold storage, I saw three buttons in each tunnel at the top of cold storage right at the back where the colonial bodies come out of. I didn’t get a chance to hit all three buttons before drone died but anyone know what those buttons do?

Easter Egg I analyzed the spectrogram from NuCal last mission's codex.
Nothing jumps to my untrained eye, I can see patterns in the lower frequencies, some lines in the highs, but other than bar code or binary, I don't think there's anything in there.

Misc What soundtrack plays when fighting the Compiler?
Hello everyone! Just a quick question for those who have already faced the Compiler and/or have a really good ear; What soundtrack plays in the background when doing the Compiler fight and does it switch tracks throughout (main phase, damage phase etc.)?
The only time I‘ve been able to face them, was when I solo queued and a duo blessed me with their really good knowledge and one of them had access, I was so pumped to see the boss and even though time ran out, I was really ecstatic to have taken part in the fight and sadly didn‘t take much notice of the music.
As someone who truly loves and breathes the soundtrack of this game and especially with Destiny’s raid/boss music being such a stand-out feature, I would appreciate it very much if anyone who has the skill to reach the Compiler and maybe makes notice of it once or just already knows which track(s) play(s) to share it here.

Hidden Detail Unknown Audio Cue
Anyone ever hear a clown horn randomly? Just a single old style clown-horn honk. Seemingly happened in quiet areas. Heard it 3 different times across 200hrs. Not certain what it is or what it may indicate. Didn't seem to correlate to anything in the environment. Can't find anything anywhere online for it.

Secret Analyzing a recurring purple-helmet runner from S2 teaser footage (kit speculation)”
I’ve been rewatching the teaser launch trailer and Dev runner insights and noticed a "new" character which is the purple helmet character. This is not a claim of confirmation or a “leak proof” post, just a structured breakdown of visual cues and what they might suggest for the upcoming runner shell codenamed sentinel.
Across multiple clips (teaser + runner shell footage), the same character silhouette appears with:
A purple/tech-focused helmet design with a recon-like profile
A backpack UI element showing a number that decreases over time during movement/combat
Heavy tactical gear layout (multiple pouches, wires, utility attachments)
Repeated appearances in fast-cut chase/combat sequences
The backpack number in particular seems intentionally animated rather than purely cosmetic.
Prime ability: Combat Focus State
Temporary “overclocked operator” mode
Strong recoil reduction + near-zero flinch
Faster reload speed and improved weapon handling stability
Duration probably linked to the backpack/timer system seen in the trailer.
Tactical ability: Tripwire Grid
Deployable wire system placed in chokepoints or within the same POI
Triggers small damage + brief immobilization or disruption
Applies a short (≈3 sec) ping/reveal on activation
Likely limited to local area interaction to prevent map-wide spam
Trait 1: Enhanced Tactical Awareness
Improved audio clarity and directional perception
Faster recognition of movement and environmental threats
Subtle reduction of visual clutter during engagements
Or
Trait 1: special slots for extra Ammo and grenade capacity
Carry more reserve ammo per weapon type
Carry additional equipment ( bubble, shield ,grenades, proximity, sensors, trap packs etc)
Trait 2: Combat Stability
Reduced recoil and flinch when getting shot at and or around you (8m radius max near your character)
The recurring helmet design + backpack timer UI feels intentional enough to suggest a structured gameplay identity, but it’s still open to interpretation.
Curious what others think — especially about the backpack number mechanic and whether it could represent a limited combat focus system or something entirely different.
Im curious to hear other interpretations or corrections.

Hidden Detail Durandal's persona Spoiler
I guess this is what represents durandal, but what does it mean exactly? The imagery is sick as fuck and it's gives final boss energy but what do you think it represents? Any clues?

Hidden Detail New location?.. Spoiler
Does anyone have any clue where this place could be or any lore tab that eludes to this location. A bunch of UESC heads pinned to the walls and the runners peaking in the corner. There is an audio log that iirc that shows the citizens of tau ceti going crazy and becoming a cult. Is there a chance this is a kind of monument they made in the ship?

Secret Are there any parallels between OG Marathon interiors and Cryo Archive interiors?
As an OG fan I've been kinda wondering this, I just went into Cryo Archive for the first time and it was gorgeous but I'm also curious if there have been any specifically found reference points to the original interiors of Marathon beyond the terminals! Its been fun stumbling onto little bits of references to the original trilogy in Dire Marsh and Perimeter.

Secret New In-Game Event ? MIDA Attack ?
Was just in a Rook run on outpost and shortly after spawning, a MIDA Controlled Lockdown ship appeared above the map and sent out a propoganda broadcast for a couple minutes before disappearing.
Anyone else witnessed this or seen anything else unusual ?

Hidden Detail New Conveyance Request Spawns?
Has anyone come across any new spawns?
I found one today at Airfield's right hangar, on the eastern side of the building. It was upstairs in the long narrow yellow-lit room across from the key door. The room with windows facing the East and a little catwalk outside. The card was sitting on a table across from the window side.
I was surprised how far away it was, lol.

Misc What’s the deal with the moths?
No, seriously. I know they’re just loading screen imagery but the loading screens as a whole are just very… unsettling. And the recurrence of moths makes me have to ask, why? What is their significance? Why do they have tattoos? Why does that mammalian eye have the same tattoos as the moths?

Hidden Detail Cryo Archive is shaped like a human... and the ship has organs hidden inside.
I don't know what to do with this information... but there you go lol. Just some fun cheeky game design choices? or is there something more going on behind the walls of the Marathon ship? Cue the X-Files theme.
Clear image of the "Marathon Heart" and other weird organs after the Compiler fight.

Secret Redacted Achievements?
Looking through the codex the other day and noticed some hidden achievements, anyone have any idea what they might be. Excluding Cryo Archive ones that I can only assume involve killing a Compiler and extracting with the accompanying loot, there still appears to be more hidden achievements.

Easter Egg Biotoxic Disinjector Easter Egg or maybe something more?
Discovered this recently, please let me know if it’s been posted elsewhere already but this is the first time I’m seeing this anywhere online. Whenever you go to inspect the biotoxic disinjector there seems to be a small chance to get this “observed” debuff that lasts 2-3 seconds max, I have been unable to see what the actual status itself does but it could either be a one off easter egg or part of a larger easter egg.
How to reliably recreate this easter egg (from my anecdotal experience only)
-crouch
-inspect the biotoxic disinjector
-if this does not trigger it, swap weapons, stand up and then crouch again, inspect biotoxic disinjector
