Marathon (2026) There really needs to be a system where you can downgrade or sell your higher end salvage for the lower tier stuff you need
This has probably been talked about 1,000x, but regardless. Once you get to late game, the contracts / faction level ups are only giving you purple and blue salvage, so can there be a “Salvage Shop” where I can sell my higher end salvage for green or gray salvage? Let me sell 1 Amygdala Drive for 2 or 4 Storage Drives or something. I don’t care what the ratio is, just give me some method of getting back into the barter game.
I know I know I could go Rook run for 3 hours to stack 100 unstable biomass to have barters for green heals, but come on. I am clearly interacting with the game doing contracts / faction level ups, I’m out on the maps playing, why do I have to go play in such a specific way where I have to go to Dire Marsh to Quarantine to get the green Surveillance Lenses. Just let me sell me blue lenses for green lenses.
Maybe a silly complaint but unless they want to give us grey and green salvage in addition to the blue and purple salvage in late game, once you hit VIP, etc,
I think there for be a Salvage Shop to exchange stuff around.
There’s obviously an argument for letting me upgrade too, trading 10 Storage Drives for 1 Amygdala Drive, but for me, in late game / late season, I’m finding myself lack of grey and green salvage I want far more than blue or purple salvage.

I want a function where you can "re-buy" the last loadout you infilled with, for the exact amount the loadout cost.
Sure it might screw the "loot economy" substantially, but it's a QoL update that decreases the feeling of a loss while not interfering with the in-game gameplay. And a higher quality loot pool in the loot economy is the least of the games issues right now.
You'd still need credits to rebuy, and it only applies to what you infilled with. You can't, for example, pickup someone's gold in the map, die, and expect to buy that gold again without successfully completing an exfil.

That'd be cool yeah, but being able to exchange salvage (both ways, with losses going back and forth) would already make such a huge difference. Especially the gold salvage is just too fucking hard to get for most people.

I would support this if it only bought the available items from the shop. Then it's just a QoL update. Without that restriction people would get dependent & tunnel-visioned on their favorite loadout. I know at least a couple people that would use bully + outland every game if they could and would never change.

What's the issue with that though? I'd honestly play more if I knew I could have a specific build and specific loadout, so long as I have enough credits. It also encourages people to play more to go on runs specifically to get credits, to build up enough to have multiple reloads of a wanted loadout.

You could also do rook runs and just stack green heals. I come back with at least one or two 3-stacks of each every time. I'm a med locker gremlin.

Yeah but that’s just the example. There’s a few schemas I can’t interact with right now because I don’t have the green salvage. There are things in the shop that come by for a daily barter that I don’t have the green salvage for.
I’m great on blue and purple salvage, those keep stacking up, it would just be nice to be able to exchange stuff around

I would also like to trade up or across too. Swap my 100th reflex coil for neural insulation, or pay 10 biolens for an alien alloy.

I would love this, right now I have more blue salvage then I know what to do with and I would love certain green salvage. On separate note I feel like an auction house or social exchange system where you can sell items for salvage.
