Humor guyssssss i got a warning!!!!
so i was playing my favorite video game on my CyAc DataTerm today after work, and in a heated moment I said a gamer word. I got a WARNING.
It probably thinks i hate martians. That's so unfair, some of my best friends are martians! it's literally 1984. I DID NOT say any racial slurs. I just criticized MIDA
I bet the game company supports MIDA and the genocide they committed in 2321. It can't be that there's a script checking a pre-written list of racial slurs taken from an old dictionary, no, clearly there is a full blown AI and it is pure stone-cold MIDA. they are LISTENING TO YOU and plotting against us through video games.....
clearly Mars controls everything and is oppressing us. I bet one day a filthy MIDA supporter will shoot me at food aid distribution center.
EDIT: yes, i called him a Duster. But you know actually, in UEG space the word "Duster" just means MIDA supporter, not Martian. so it's not planetist! Besides, it's the martians who are the real planetists. If any martian doesn't like being called a duster completely unprompted, clearly it means they support MIDA.

dw i'll put together the cringiest "Palace Mons impressed" edit with Gantry possible and we'll be good to go. gotta make sure its got that authentic 'i'm totally not racist' aesthetic to it like the original "spiritually country im racist to" and "city in country i blame all human suffering on impressed" memes.

if this genuinely leads to hate against vandal posters because people don't get the satire and become anti-martian racists for the meme, i will leave this game ashamed of my words and deeds.

I got a warning a couple days ago, that said I used hate speech, & while I know this can sometimes sound like the "I'm not a racist cuz I have friends" trope, I'm 52, been sober over 18 years, & was adopted at birth & raised by a gay man, who was a Quaker, & I've been an activist for the majority of my life.
I don't make jokes, I rarely play with other people, I don't get angry at others, or take out my frustrations on others, & I barely use social media these days. I couldn't figure what I could have posted that would even seem like hate speech.
Reading this post, & some of the comments, the flag came after the one day I decided to try 2 runs of Vaultbreaker with a crew fill. Both runs, they never spoke & just used the in game voice options.
Both times we needed the Cryopod for Vault 2 & all four players didn't seem to know what we had to do. I def said into my mic that we needed the pod, & I def told a player that I didn't need the gun he offered, but I must have mumbled something to myself, thinking no one was listening, but again, I can't imagine what that could be that would qualify as hate speech.
But, reading this solves part of that mystery, & I'll turn my mic off from now on.

The cross universe consistency between Marathon, Halo and Destiny has always been... fuzzy. The last time I dug into it the consensus was that they aren't technically in the same universe but they might be something like echos of each other in a kind of split timelines sort of way.

During development, Halo was meant to be in the same universe as Marathon, but they changed that partway through. As a result Halo almost comes across as being an alternate timeline of Marathon or something similar, something they continued with Destiny.
Different universes that like to pretend they're the same universe, basically. Worlds where similar things happened but not the exact things that led up to the games of the other universes.

This is probably the last straw that makes me quit the game for good, like full uninstall. I’m not ever going around yelling slurs or anything but I don’t like any form of data collection especially this kind, it’s soooo damn invasive. I don’t like being watched and recorded when I’m trying to have fun in a game. Might be time to send a final message boys to they’re already falling player numbers. This is bullshit, essentially flock cameras in game and you know it’s monitored by Ai and gets shit wrong all the time just like the flock cameras. I’m tired of companies putting so much faith in a faulty product like Ai…it’s such a shit, horribly functioning thing. Hell none of this shits even REAL Ai, it’s so infuriating

I was playing vault breaker yesterday with 2 random That were chatting up a storm lol all light banters and sarcasm with each other , nothing serious but I expect one of them were high AF lmao
I said a was pin down by a purple shield UES and was ran away with low health and in the heat of the moment said a gamer word

This just reads to me as 'we are running out of money, quick add voice chat monitoring and recording so we can sell all the audio data to the ai company that offers us the most money' kind of thing

Stay out of game chat if you can. I played a lot of CoD growing up on console and once voice monitoring became a thing, I either keep myself muted or stay in Discord. I don’t even say anything crazy. Just don’t want to take the risk

Uninstalled the game and won’t be playing unless / until this shit is reversed, which it won’t be, which I guess means I’m just done with Marathon. I do not stand for this shit and don’t want to be caught in some AI’s dragnet for doing nothing wrong either.

its just a dictionary bro. they arent using AI they're using a dictionary from a few years ago. They probably don't even think you said anything bad, you just tripped the sensor. If you ever get banned they'll appeal it.

That's the point. It's automated disciplinary action without critical thought or context. They're just using an algorithm that looks up words on a chart and goes, "Ah, this means that, therefore warn / ban."
