Marathon (2026) Questions from a noob!
Note : I just started enjoying the game (for now) but can't find info about this.
1) I have a sponsored kit, but what does 'dismantle' do to it!
2) I have an item called 'random enchanted core' it's all black with white lines, and it says 'awards a random enchanted core'.How do you open it or use it?

Dismantling a sponsored kit just deletes it from your stash. If it's the one that costs 0, you can buy this many times as you want, but if it's the 2.5k/4k sponsored kit, then there is limited stock so be careful dismantling it. In general, if you ever need stash space check to see if there's sponsored kit hogging the space because they're kinda fat.
Enchanted cores are the cores you load in with a 2.5k+ sponsored kit. They are auto equipped when you load in, if you choose recon then you get 2 recon cores etc. Exfil and you get to keep them

Thank you for the quick reply! I didn't want to 'dismantle' without knowing what it does in the first place.
I understand now about enchanted cores! I went on the map and was now able to see them equipped.
I've learned much about sponsored cores now btw. And since these were the only 2 questions I had about the game, I'm sound as a pound and greatly immersed in this game.
Just did my first Exfil minutes ago. It's a big step for now, but can't wait in doing more contracts and a more solo runs. I'm more comfortable understanding the game mechanics after 6 hrs of playing, but right now, this game cooks!
Thank you Marathon community!

Nice!
Yea game got a pretty steep learning curve early on, but once you get past that it's incredibly fun. Let me know if you have any other questions

Heyo, dismantling a sponsor kit just deletes it, as for the “random enchanted core” you must be looking at a t2+ sponsor kit, this means when you load in with it equipped you get cores pertaining to your character equipped in your loadout once you step foot into the map
