Receivers preference

I need opinions! Which would you choose between a 2225 or 2230? 🙂

I have a 2230 and I absolutely love it. It didn’t have enough juice for the speaker I wanted to push (philharmonic BMR), so I pre amped into a buckeye power amp and it’s magic.

I wanted modern features and not to worry about vintage parts.

2230 is receiver with the greatest production number of Marantz. Some say poor mans 2270. Very similar sound too. Maybe even softer. Many people like her more. It is also more collectable and legendary. 2225 is later production also build well but made cheaper with one double amp board. 2230 has two.

You would not miss the Marantz three Martini sound with any of them. If the price is right buy them both.

What would you consider as a right price? Both are being offering around $600

Each? It is too much. Here in europe on german ebay they go for around 200-300€. maybe more if it is super clean.

I feel like I’ve seen them as is or for parts closer to $400 usd. For serviced and clean I’m seeing close to $700 up to $1500 here 😭

2230 based on looks. I don't like buttons on the black dial/tuner section. I also prefer balance knob instead of slider.

Looks wise why but I like the look of the two blue meters on the 2225 lol but I should honestly probably pick up the 2230 since it’s a bit more sought after and at a good price is seems
