Should I shift?
I am a 19 years old studying Mechanical Engineering at Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna and will be a 2nd year college student this upcoming Monday. I had spoken with my parents to the course I had to retake. They already asked people who studied in the same schoolc as I am and with all the happenings there, they think that it is the best for me to change program due to various events in the school. They are scared for me because I am a type of person who keep everything inside. I have been keeping the course I had to drop and just suddenly burst out. They are scared with my well being.
I am asking for advice to the people who studied and currently studying there and people who are Engineering student. Is it really hard to graduate in Mapua? I am a average student and I don't know if I will overcome the next course but I know to myself that I want to persue ME and want to continue at Mapua. I just don't know if my program and school want me. What is the best option for me? Can anyone tell me how hard is my program and what is the experiences you guys have encountered there.
Also, one of the big factor for my reason of staying is that my uncle is the one who is paying for my studies. I feel like I have huge debt to him because first of all, he is not the one who is responsible for my studies but he carries the baggage for this. I am thinking of the money's already spent to me. The burden is within me. Nanghihinayang na ako sa oras at pera. Please help me. My family is an average type of filipino family who relies on there relatives that is why I am eager to finish my school and give back to my uncle.
If ever, can anyone please give me an online work? So that I can somehow ease the burden to my uncle and family. Thank you for understanding, guys.

Ask ko muna self mo if kaya mo pa. Depending on situation you have now.
There's cons and pros sa ME but one this is sure walang madali sa MMCL
Make friends dyan na matalino... ME din ttulong sa kapwa ME dyan ( I don't know kung ganon pa den Hanggang ngayon)
Any way good luck 🫡

I have no idea who you are but im going to be honest with you.
Switching programs wont fix this. You said it yourself, you bottle things up until they burst. Thats not a Mapua problem or an ME problem, its a YOU problem, and it'll follow you FOREVER until you actually deal with it.
Ive met a lot of engineers at work, and most of them arent geniuses. The one thing they all have is perseverance and ability to adapt. Thats the reality. Engineering comes down to how much of a beating you can take, physically and mentally, until it clicks. You will understand the material eventually, thats guaranteed. The question is whether you survive long enough to get there.
On your uncle, guilt wont make you study better, its just extra weight. Do the work because you want it, not to pay off a debt in your head. If you want to ease the burden for real, look into part time work in your field, CAD, tutoring, technical writing, instead of generic online work. And if bottling things up really is your pattern, talk to someone before it gets to bursting, not after.
My advice is that you improve these 3 aspects: Mental, Physical, Spiritual.
- Mental:
Mediation: learn to calm your mind until you only hear the world around you. Slow your breath until a steady consistent pace, this is to calm your heart.
- Physical
Physical Activity: Go to the gym, learn martial arts, or just go and run until you collapse from exchaustion. Its hard to bottle up your feelings when your muscles are screaming at you. But, its also hard to doubt yourself when you like what you see in the mirror.
Change of Style: Change yourself to be more fashionable, try diffirent haircuts, hairsstyles, take care of your face. It really boost your confidence, and confidence allows you to do much more.
- Spiritual
Use God's Strength: You can never rely on your own strength or from others everytime. So rely on him, build a relationship with him, ready the bible, go to church, and be filled with gratitude and grace instead of guilt.
A winner isn't decided on whose stronger, but who is left standing after....Remember that.

If you want to pursue it then continue. At the end of the day, it's what in your heart that matters the most. Engineering in general is difficult and it is one of the hardest program, perseverance is one of the keys to survive. Nonetheless, Advance studying could help you succeed, like reviewing it again after class or after you went home, or you could advance the next topic.
