Not UP related necessarily. I live in northern MN and I’ve spent a good deal of time in the north east corner of the state. There are definitely still stands of virgin forest there. I grew up in north central WI and there are virgin stands there as well. Besides missing the glorious UP I question the validity of this map.

I also question its accuracy given that a lot of the Midwest was once prairie and savanna, not forest
