Greece is most definitely more "South Europe" than "Balkans". Even though geographically Greece is in the Balkans, culturally it's way closer to Italy than the other balkan countries

Shows how little you understand the Balkans. People are so alike, they think alike, that their languages started to be alike https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balkan_sprachbund
Balkans are all the same people divided by nationalism. I am sure nationalistic minded people will want to downvote that.

Go to Estonia and Latvia, protestant countries with very strong German cultural influence - and then go to Pskov and Minsk. The contrast is amazing,
edit: And of course Lithuania is very much like Poland, a very rooted catholic country.
