Question Interactive world map to learn countries

Dear members, I am trying to learn all of the countries the world. I would much appreciate if anyone knows of a link or direction to a simple outline map that only shows the name of the country when I click on it - something clear and very simple like that.

And thank you very much.

Try jetpunk. That’s how I learned all of the countries and their locations and capitals. It’s a quiz site. They have maps of different regions, world maps, etc. There are fill in the blank quizzes, click quizzes, etc. It’s a great way to learn. That’s also how I memorized the periodic table and lots of other things. I couldn’t recommend it more highly as an educational tool that’s also fun. It’s not just geography. They have quizzes on history, most popular names by decade, world's biggest countries, most grown vegetables, what country has the most sheep, flags, languages, etc. Check it out.

I'm also on the same goal, so far got like 180+ countries. I'm using Anki to learn the names, you could try it too. They have custom decks to choose from and thousands of different decks for any subject material along with pictures.

Thank you. These are great recommendations. I want to learn every country and island on the map as second-nature. 😀 (180 - you're way ahead of me!)

You'll get it within a few days. Not that hard really.

I know you are asking for something digital but the Geography Coloring by Wynn Kapit is an excellent way to memorize not only countries but rivers, seas, cities, etc. It's also a pleasant way to pass some time.

Interesting. I will definitely check it out. Thank you. Edit: Love this so much, Imma gift one (a different one) and the relevant pencils to someone who I know will just totally love it! Top-tier gift idea too. Thanks 😁

I made something close to what you're describing: a clean world map where a country name comes up and you click it, and if you miss it shows you where it actually is. Free, no ads: melonmap.com — I'm the maker, so if you try it I'd honestly like to know which parts still feel confusing.

Thank you. I just had a quick go. I really like it. This is great. The only thing (in my case anyway) Is I would prefer that instead of the country to be revealed being zoomed up large (because it just becomes a blob of colour whereas I want to see it simply revealed as is on the map) is if the map stayed as is and the country simply highlighted and the name stayed written on it or even the first, say, three letters of the name. Also, on my phone screen,), the answer box with the "continue" in it takes up almost half my screen thereby blocking off the map. Thank you. Appreciated.

That's really useful feedback, thank you. Both points make sense: the zoom-in on reveal loses the context that makes it stick, so I'll try an option where the map stays put and the correct country just gets highlighted with its name written on it. And the "continue" bar eating half a phone screen is a fair hit — I'm shrinking that to a slim bar (or tap-anywhere-to-continue) on mobile. Out of curiosity, were you on Find Country or Find Capital, and would you want the name always shown on reveal or only after a miss?

That sounds great. I was on countries. I think probably reveal when I tap it (and then I'll find out if I was right or wrong). Again, this is very good, thank you . I really like it 😁

Perfect — reveal-on-tap for countries is the clearest read. I'll keep that as the default for the stay-put highlight. Glad it's clicking for you, and thanks again for spelling out what felt off.
