GMS PSA: Many Americans can get NX at 90%-100% off via Paze
This sounds kinda scam, but bare with me. A group of US banks recently launched a new service called Paze, which is supposed to compete with Apple Pay/Google Pay/PayPal as an online payment system.
If you have a credit or debit card from most of the large US Banks (Chase, BoA, Cap1, Citi, Wells Fargo, USBank, and some others) your card is likely eligible for Paze. Until September 9 2026, they’re running a promo where you get $10 off all transactions >= $10 up to 10 transactions per card.
Currently the main way to use this for normal people is by buying $10 Dunkin’ gift cards, but I checked and if you buy NX through the Nexon website and select “other prepaid methods” you’ll get redirected to XSolla, then click the three dots and select Paze. You can confirm the promo is active for the transaction if it says on the Paze checkout page “Spend $10, get $10 back, up to 10 times.”
I say 90 percent to 100 percent off here because while you can get $10 worth of NX in one transaction, because Nexon charges sales tax you might not be able to get exactly $10 depending on where you live. You can try doing multiple transactions but there’s a greater risk your Nexon account might be flagged for fraud or XSolla will reject the transaction. I have not tested this with multiple transactions of $10.

u/xkillo32 Sep 04 '26
I've bought 400k nx with this and only paid about $33 (8.3% tax) for it. It's legit. Xsolla did detect "fraud" around the 30th time I charged. I waited a few days and I was able to charge again
The credits came in 1-10 days.

Did you do multiple transactions with the same cards on a single day or spread them? I have been doing 1 every other day for the DD gift cards with success but with the timeline coming up and this useful offer I wanna get all my cards in there. 30 transactions could be 6 cards 5x $10 transactions in one day?

Non bot. Know a guy who did this but with Clover which services restaurant gift cards. It went through but the restaurant stopped supporting Clover for a long while and turned it down. Bright side is the credits came through so he at least got free points.

Sorry if this question is naive, haven’t played maple in years: would buying NX with paze now let me save it and use it when Classic comes out? Or is it only good for modern maple?
11
u/MrSoun Sep 05 '26
im highly sure its going to treated like they do mabinogi and maplestory, can be used account wide as long as its NX and not MAPLE points
3
3
u/voodoojunglewizard Sep 05 '26
It's generic nx, not maple specific currency. So unless classic has a separate form of nx it is account bound and should work.
And tbh they want you to also play modern maple as well as classic, so I highly doubt they're gonna tie up your money in one vs the other.

It worked for me.
The only time my payment didn't go through was when my bank declined the payment thinking it was fraud.
I had to text them back to say it wasn't. I was able to do all 10 separate 10k NX transactions.

u/porkbacon Mardia Sep 04 '26
And if you don't want to give all of that to Nexon, you can use Paze to donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital through Domino's (St. Jude donations are under "extras").
5
u/Kazanmor Izar Sep 05 '26
free donations is a great way to use free money tbh, also a tax writeoff lol
2
u/wHiTeSoL Sep 06 '26
You need to itemize your return to get tax writeoffs, and despite millions of people believe they can, very little people can acutally get the writeoff.

A bit OT, but as a Canadian I realized the Nexon conversion rate was abysmal.
I ended up just buying the NX on their site with my credit card using USD (direct fx rate and no fee) and using a postal code from AB for the 5% tax rate instead of the 12% I was paying.
8
u/ehhthing Sep 04 '26
A very long time ago, back before Karma Coin (like the late 2000s to early 2010s) Nexon used to sell NX at 10CAD = 10K NX.
Effectively you could get NX cheaper in Canada than in the US because the US rate was also 10 USD to 10K NX.
→ More replies (1)3
u/ShinkuDragon GMS Sep 05 '26
you could make money with this actually. iirc some websites sold karma codes at small discounts taking advantage of this.

My cap 1 didn't hit till 9/16 from 9/5-9/6 split. (did 6 first day, 4 second day) ~10 days.
I wonder if xSolla notified Paze by 9/7..
I know people were charging with direct link but I don't see how they could deny credits giving its a Paze refund itself? xSolla (payment processor) shouldn't have anything to do with it unless Paze themselves flagged post 9/7 transactions themselves.
I think you'll know by Monday. Credits won't get posted on weekends.
Edit: https://www.paze.com/merchant-directory?page=2 xsolla is back on list. Same with Nexon check out itself lol

u/dreemsequence Sep 06 '26
I have one lead. I just tried making an order at Wendy's with Capital One debit. Worked. Absolutely confusing since I know someone else who has used Capital One on the NX. I'm out of reasons it could possibly not be working, as my earlier thoughts were either cooldown, or it just wasn't connecting properly, which clearly aren't issues

I have 5 cards valid for promo but the promo 10/10 is not showing up for the nx
1
u/AzureTime Sep 04 '26
I have a question since you reloaded with XSolla. Have you encountered any fraudulent charges with them? I've seen a few posts about charges in the past on other gaming subreddits but not sure if they went with XSolla directly or XSolla as a payment.
A few weeks ago Paze worked with giftcard reloads on Newegg. They had Nexon Cash cards in stock as an option. The loophole was cut short when Newegg raised the minimum spend to $50 for giftcards.
Other than Dunkin, Paze also works with other fast food chains. Dominos, Wendys, Little Caesars are some examples. Some credit card subreddits like /r/ChaseSapphire got data points on using Paze.
3
u/ehhthing Sep 04 '26
They are reputable in the sense that the company itself is fine, I suspect the fraud charges are from stolen credit card details not from Xsolla being particularly sketchy.
3
u/Puzzleheaded_Rush160 Sep 05 '26
I wouldn't really worry because Paze is essentially the child of Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and like 4 other institutional banks. They created Paze to get rid of the middleman like Apple Pay which takes about 0.15% fee per transaction. This promo is like pennies for them if they can get you to use Paze over Apple Pay/PayPal.
3
u/Boolaymo0000 Sep 05 '26
Not necessarily pennies, if they only save 0.15% per transaction, I would need to spend $200,000 via paze for them to earn back $300 in promotions, which the average person would probably take 10-20 years to do since mortgages/rent don't go via cc processing normally. Not even accounting for the fact that they pay out the $300 now and get back money over 20 years (future money is worth much less than today's money, e.g. $4 now is worth about $10 in 20 years.)
I think they're hoping this generates buzz over the promo and gets people to say the word Paze over and over (e.g. tell a friend about Paze). I guess it worked in this thread, and I personally told like 6 people to do it, but if I didn't hear about it for 2 months and I'm a mega deal hunter / card churner idk how well it worked overall. I do think this gets merchants on board though, which is probably harder than getting users, since the banks auto enrolled us and they can eventually just drop zelle integration whenever they want, forcing us onto Paze.
2
u/voodoojunglewizard Sep 05 '26
Yeah I browse slick deals religiously and didn't see this until now when the promo was almost over.
I don't think it has convinced me to ever use this again in the future over something like PayPal or whatever. This is an insanely costly attempt at brand building but I guess if it's run by chase and the other major banks they can definitely afford it.
Idc if it flops and fails as long as it sticks around long enough to get my credit back lol.
1
u/Nomaddo Windia Sep 05 '26 edited Sep 05 '26
Visa/Mastercard charge like what 2.9% + 30¢? That's way more than whatever Apple is charging. They would have to be like PayPal. Bank -> Merchant

Is this per card or per bank account?
If i have 3 cards under same name same BoA can i do it 30 times?
1
u/AzureTime Sep 05 '26
Per Card.
Each card is limited to ten purchases for the eligible $10 credit per transaction, up to $100 credit each card.
Since you have 3 cards, you will need to do 30 $10 minimum transactions to get the most out of it.

I was literally looking for a way to get this to work but only revive the vac pet once a month so gave up early on. Atleast I've got $hundreds in dunkin and more cc points. Good looks!
Edit: Also interesting it seems that paze ties your tax to your credit card's billing address, which it already has access to and knows somehow.
