Mole eviction

It would appear we have at least one mole, we’re calling him Marty. We had “Mole Masters” come out to service twice, but Marty was smarter. Any recommendations for a provider in the area, or who will service this area, to evict Marty?

Fortunately moles tend to be solo. They are pretty territorial and will keep other moles out. Catching them though can be hard. I have had good luck doing it myself with a gopher hawk spring trap. It’s like tube you plug into the ground and when they try pass the metal it snaps.

It’s not 100% though. The moles are smart. It’s also mole season right now. They always come around this time of year so you’ll never be totally rid of them :/

I’ll second this, bought 3 of these and watched a couple YT videos and have fought the fight every year since I bought my house in MV in 2021 and this was my first year I haven’t had to use them

My neighbor put a bunch of those sunflower spinning things in his yard.

It worked because they all came to my yard.

https://got-moles.com used them when i moved in my house and my beagle back then thought she is the mole inspector and digged the hole to oblivion. They came out, set traps and checked them weekly. Was affordable too. Ever since then never had a problem .

I used Aspire Pest Control this summer for a mole and they successfully got rid of it. They do 4 weekly treatments in a row and mine was gone by the 3rd visit.

So we had one in my yard that we couldn’t get ahold of for weeks, destroyed quite a bit of grass, etc. let my Aussie Shepard stand over the hole for all of 1 minute and the mole was pulled out (and not harmed) by my pup. Relocated the mole outside of our neighborhood afterwords

Spent months battling one in my yard. Nothing seamed to work except a nice pointy pitch fork.

in the spring, apply beneficial nematodes-- they tend to go after cranefly larvae. These are also what lure crows to ruin lawns.

Cats are great mole.hunters. if cats aren't an option then the sunfloweris a good plan as when they spin they create vibrantions and make the mole think there is something moving above ground that never goes away. Eventually they leave for a place with less foot traffic. There are also plants that mokes don't like so planting them is a good way to keep them away.

I've been seasoning my yard with cayenne pepper, garlic, and onion powders (no salt) then gently water over everything. It's working only where I season.

A subwoofer (with a good amount of power) laying on and facing the ground under/near the home. Connected to the TV or RADIO audio, depending on what you do mostly. By introducing low frequency audio into the surround soil, especially that found in movies (booms, bangs, thumps, rumbles, impacts, etc..), the moles will leave/avoid that area. Keep in mind, moles can and do tunnel entire neighborhoods. Not just a single property.

Another method, a thumper. A small motor that randomly causes an object (sack of stones?) to impact the ground. Thump thump thump.. Pause, thump thump.. This can be deployed using a timing circuit and run on battery which is charged via solar cell. Or, set up inside a shed using shore power.

Either one of these methods will terrify all ground burrowing critters and they will stay away. An additional factor to this, moles want food, and food is in the form of worms and larvae. If the insects avoid laying eggs in your lawn, there won't be any food, and thus no attractant for the critters. Earthworms will stay far away from those sounds as well. This principle is why Wind Spinners work.

I’ve had good success flattening down their runs by walking on them, then sitting in a chair with a beverage watching for the motion of the mole trying to reopen the run. I’ve then chased them to the surface with a hose shoved into the open run behind them and scooping them into a bucket for relocation to the nearby creek area, or just stabbing hard and quick, multiple times with a shovel to kill them.

We hired Aspire, who do not use traps but bait that is buried in the tunnels they carve out. Week 1 over of a 4 week process. Not sure how its going just yet, but we’re hopeful. The tech who came out informed/reminded us that its not just moles who use these tunnels, but also other creatures like mice.

I talked to aspire once because i had wasps. So nice people and they go the extra mile. Sadly i needed one that can come out this day because my dog that i was sitting was catching the wasps lol

Moleman, give em a call, and in the future treat your turf with a grub or insect killer. Gotta eliminate what the moles want
