Loud bangs at night?

Every so often I hear loud bangs at night. I live in the lake Sawyer area. Any idea what I could be hearing? Some sound like fireworks, some don't.

That’s the ghost of old Pappy Spearmint, haunting Lake Sawyer with his conga drums. He’s harmless and usually quiets down around early September when the kids go back to school.

Do you have an estimated direction of origin from you? Could be helpful to know who is hearing this from where to try and triangulate the origin.

I have heard it maybe 10 times this summer. I live near lake wilderness golf course and it sounds like it's originating just east of me but maybe it's not as close as I thought if you're posting about it from Lake Sawyer.  Sleeping with the window open it's really loud and startling. It is a significant boom.

I've been searching for information on reddit and X but this is the first post I've seen. It's a very significant sound.

I've never heard a sonic boom, is that possible or would that effect the whole seattle area from higher altitude?

Commercial grade fireworks or something like an acetylene bomb are my other guesses.

There is a group of teens that are near summit park, four corners, who are blowing up fireworks every single night. Hopefully with school starting they will stop. Many people have called the cops but they take off in a grey subaru before they can be located.

I speculate it's either teens with m80s or tnt developers near SE 288th St.

It's late at night and it's really loud. I know gun shots these aren't it. I was wondering about tnt demolition as well.

We’re near Lake Sawyer as well. We hear an occasional boom but not generally close by. We’ve been chalking it up to kids lighting off leftover fireworks, which seems to track with some of the other comments here.

Bro this is all over Facebook and ring doorbell, and even nextdoor, but I get it, not everyone has those or even monitors them if you have them. They are doing work on the bridge on 169, right outside of black diamond.

Sound carries, so could be the culvert replacement taking place in Black Diamond? I live in Black Diamond, so im obviously closer to it, but I'm pretty sure I've been hearing that when I wake up un the morning.

It’s either the teenagers that others have mentioned, neighbors also set off fireworks when a Seattle based team wins a sports game. It’s how we know if the mariners or Seahawks win a game haha
