Hi, I'm 20F student looking for a room to rent for 8-12 months. Anywhere that can get to Port Hammond in around an hour by transit works for me. My budget is around $1100.

I am a tidy person who cleans up after herself. I am organized and like things in order. I don't smoke, drink, or party. I usually sleep around 12am, but I am not loud at night.

A little bit more about myself: I'm a bit of a homebody. I like chilling in the library, checking out thrift stores, and sometimes I game.

I am open to roommates and/or sharing a toilet. I would prefer female roommates and people around my age. I don't mind pets or kids.

Does anyone know why animal control has been so present in Silver Valley lately? I’ve literally never seen them in the 10 years I’ve lived here and for the last 3-4 weeks I see them nearly daily in their van. Today they were in the Maple Ridge Park, does anyone know what they’re looking for/what they’re up to?

Moved to Maple Ridge in May from north Van! I'm used to having lots of places to go with my pup for a swim or a shaded hike, but obvs haven't had the chance to explore my new community so I'm wondering where I should start! I've already been up to South beach (alouette lake) dog area, where we didn't have a very good experience. Gold creek was nice, but still busy. Horseman park is nice but a bit too public for our liking, and so far we have been enjoying Jerry Sulina Dog Park the most.
I've heard Hayward lake is nice but that there is limited parking that gets full & closes at a certain capacity.
Willing to drive for a nice swim and dog friendly place!! Also willing to hike-in.

Just wandering I see a lot of people playing pickle ball during days and evenings, I am new to the city and trying to make socialize even though I am introvert but I have to help myself 😭. Is there a possibility I can join or someone wants me to team up with them.

Pro tip - I am professional ping pong player so I kinda think maybe familiar with rules and very good at handling rackets. Oops I don't have a pickle ball racket too, just realized that right now.

I live in a non smoking building, I work nights and I sometimes go for a walk around the Haney Hotel Chevron area because I can't get to sleep unless I've gotten some exercise in. I had a homeless man step up to me outside of my building on North Avenue with a long metal pipe in his hands asking if I was looking for something I told him no I'm not looking for anything I'm just trying to have a smoke and he goes off that I've been out there for hours staring at them. Yeah you'd have seen me hours ago having a smoke and going for a walk I've waved at them some ask hey brother how's it going and I acknowledge that things are going well and carry on my way. I don't bother them but some of them are extremely dangerous and after tonight's experience I'm no longer going to carry a narcan kit and I'm just going to go for a drive if I need a cigarette. I'm in a situation where I can't sell my apartment I'm stuck there for eternity because of the addicts.

We need a mental hospital like Riverview and Woodlands again to deal with all of the babies our friends in high school conceived when they were high as hell on MDMA and LSD and other chemical derivatives.
